Just different engines.
I'll check out the dyno day information and see if I can request the day off. Thanks.

Bwahahahaha! YES! Finally!! Another 3.5!! The ONLY other 3.5 Altima that I know that's modified is a Altima SE-R, but the dude is in Iraq at the moment and I can spank him. That's awesome!! :D What does she have done? :D

Yeah its still stockasaurus right now!!
Came with some chrome wheels... lol. That weight like a ton!!
Not doing anything to it as of yet until I get a new clutch. It started slipping like a week after I bought it! Go figure!
Don't know if I will try to make it faster.. Just need a reliable car for the family since Timon likes to blow up his engine in his 240. Lol.
Yeah I don't drive automatics.. 5spd for the win!

That is pretty cool. Definitely ditch those rims, you can probably find some cheap 350Z/G35 rims on Craigslist.. I saw some 18's goin' for $350 w/o tires.
The clutch in these cars is shit. I bought my car with a new OEM clutch installed at 61k miles. I'm at 71k miles now and it's slipping at higher RPMs. Thus the reason for the JWT Stage 1 Clutch/Flywheel which will be getting installed this week. :) You can always go with a Competition Clutch stocker. Run about $250 bucks but can handle about 25% over stock.
If you don't mind me asking, but what's the point of putting a badge for a smaller motor on the back?
Two reasons for me. One reason is that I wanted to convert the car over to a single for the power. Another is just to simply FUCK with people's minds. I've witnessed so many people just in shock when they notice they're getting walked by what they think is a 2.5. It's just funny! :D Sure it's an Altima, nothing special. But when they notice the 3.5 then they reason that it isn't that bad losing since it has such a big engine. But oh no.. not in this case. As soon as they see that 2.5S, that excuse is gone and they're just left wondering. :D

Yeah my husband doesn't want to install the clutch for me.. So its going to cost me like 800 to get a shop to put it in... And my husbands car is in the garage with no engine in it and parts all over the place.. :(
Mine slips when you try to really get on it or going up a steep hill

that is what i am studying right now in auto class, what probably happened is that when they installed the new clutch they did not either (A) resurface the flywheel right or (B) replace the flywheel if needed

what shop, just curious... so $550... cluth and labor?? If so, then it would be worth her drive up to tacoma. it cost us 47 bucks to get to auburn washington and back with super gas and a led foot going up and back. And you said 250 for the cluth and thats only 200 bucks for labor...craziness
Jen_ForesterSTi
02-16-2009, 09:38 PM
wait a minute I just realized that that does not include new fluid either so labor is even less!! I am just in shock that a shop would even consider doing a job like that for so little money!!

mine was like 530 AFTER tax when i had it done... AAMCO will often price match other local shops... call around locally where you live, find the cheapest, then call AAMCO... they should price match and they usually do good work(most of the time)

$550 w/ clutch I wish! It was $700 for clutch from MyNISMO.com and $550 for labor. Replacing a clutch on an Altima is no easy task, haha! Would've been around $750 w/ an OEM clutch but since I don't exactly want to go through all of this again I upgraded.

Had some fun tonight with the camera. Don't worry, this was done on a cleared highway. ;) My speedo is off by 5MPH so it's actually 15MPH to 105MPH instead of 20 to 120. The reason why it jumps to 60 so quickly is because of wheelspin. You can see right after that that it lags for a second. And if any one is wondering.. 11 seconds. :)

Went to a station a while back. Under 1/4 tank (one line above "E") no spare and tools it weighed in at 3,0XXlbs. :) Not as heavy as people think. I also have a sunroof so that adds in some weight. Sure with driver it's an additional 250lbs but even then it's still not bad.
Watching the video again, I almost regret not going into 4th and taking it further.
Just remembered I also have this video. Me racing my friend in his Altima SE-R. Sure it isn't much of a comparison since he's stock and I'm modified but this is also a car (the SE-R) that came from factory with 260HP. :) Kind of fun to imagine where my car fits.

your car is different... I'd think it wouldn't be to exspensive on your car. You car is probably easy to replace a cluth on.

Okay.. LOL I was like holy crap thats freakin rediculously cheap!!!
And 11 seconds of lag.... Tire spin FTL though... My Friends SRT4 did that all the time. He'd always run mid 13's in is Neon and couldn't get any faster time, but with the HP/TQ he made it could be in the 12's. You car is pretty stealthly!!!

Oh no, not 11 second 1/4 mile. haha! That'd take a lot more then what I have now. 150 shot, slicks, etc. etc. I was talking about the video. 15-105 took 11 seconds. :)

sleeper status is bad ass.
PREracing
02-18-2009, 07:40 AM
I prefer to remove all badges completely and keep em guessing if the sleeper thing is your style. Or make the car look completely stock on the outside and packing 400hp inside. But whatever the smaller badge thing is what a lot of old chevy guys would do to there cars they would have small block badging on the fenders with a big block under the hood.
Domesticated
02-18-2009, 10:45 AM
that would be kinda funny if i took the r/t and stripes off my car and put the stock alloys back on when i do the swap. but ive grown partial to the stripes a little. i dont know about debadging though, most people dont look at altimas as being super fast anyway, so you still kinda have one up, just like me with my neon, i suprise everyone i race!

A sleeper car is a car that you bult up but looks stock on the outside.
For example, A stock looking Toyota Corolla XRS with a turbo. (about 350hp)
Not a stock car with the badges of a slower stock car. That is just dumb.
And YES it is gay to put Honda badges on Acuras. They are NOT Hondas they are made by Honda and they are NOT JDM!!!!

yeah that is quite a bit done to it. I would say its a sleeper since the exterior looks pretty stock
