okay so i have discussed this with my stereo guy and some friends and just want to see what u guys think. there is pretty much a slim chance of anyone talking me out of interior and front in. the rear i might beable to get talked out of but just let me know what u think. for those that dont know i am in school for autobody and paint. i love just spending time and fabricating metal. what my plan for the front is, i want to do an s2000 front bumper and headlights. along with the scheme of my front in im going to do interior. at the minimum s2000 seats, push button start and maybe even a s2000 gauge cluster. for the rear end i have been debating on doin a WRX taillight conversion after i saw one done and fell in love.

Leave it stock. Honda did a pretty decent job designing the car the way it is. Don't change it to be something it's not.

i wouldnt mind leaving it stock if i was going to be a daily driver but it wont be. im going strictly for show when i start my fabbing this fall

Ty

Be one of the few clean stock-ish cars at a show. Those are always my favorite.

gotrice93
03-06-2009, 12:01 AM
that wouldnt be bad but honda didnt make jack crap for a del sol so most of it has to be fabbed to begin with

if you are going to do S2K, might as well go all out. Do the tail lights as well.

thats what i had been thinking. it would take a little more work but like i have talked about with friends is that i should keep it all honda not throw in subaru parts.

Ty

Brian
03-06-2009, 12:11 AM

yeah i also thought that but i need a 4 door car or atleast a 4 seater since my truck is a regular cab and then my del sol is a 2 seater. but if i go through with my build i wont be buying a new car till im done

gotrice93
03-06-2009, 12:32 AM
i love the complete look,

gotrice93
03-06-2009, 12:51 AM
i am about 90 percent sure on the front end. the rear end after seeing that, i had never seen it done online, i might just do custom rear lights. thanks for ur input guys

Brian

if you do it, maybe do a wide body or some fender flares as well. It will give it a good stance

gotrice93
03-06-2009, 12:57 AM
yeah thats another good idea brian. i have seen a kit on ebay to do a r34 swap for 800 i was going to buy it but bought my camera and i had my timing belt changed. i was mainly a fan of the wide body kit that came with it

i would do the S2K instead. The R34 look is really played out

I think it looks pretty sick IMO, I like it.

gotrice93
03-06-2009, 12:29 PM
i like it to. i was just showing them that a wide body does look good on it. im gonna stick to an s2k front and build a wide body

Brian
03-06-2009, 01:28 PM
i wouldn't go with such an aggressive body line as the R34, but definitely do some fender flares

gotrice93
03-06-2009, 01:32 PM
like some bushwacker off road ones? haha jk..i want to run 8 or 9 inch 18's and dont want them sticking way out so fender flares are gonna be a must

Backwoodz Tuner
03-06-2009, 01:40 PM
Damn those would be some wide ass wheels. Doin some flares would be cool, a lot of work though

gotrice93
03-06-2009, 01:43 PM
yeah, im all show! if i wanted to go fast i would run16's or 15's

gustav129
03-06-2009, 02:03 PM
I liek the R34 look, but not the bumper. If there was a bumper that looked a little closer to factory, that would be great. I do like how the lights and nose look on the Del Sol.

gotrice93
03-06-2009, 02:11 PM
i like what honda did with the del sol but like i said earlier, they dont make many aftermarket parts so i got to fab everything, plus im going for show so i want to stand out

Yeah I use to be all into the show scene, but I hate comin in secound, and I got hooked on the high you get from smokin a V8 or V6 , I know this may offend some people on the site , but I love eatin up the Mustangs around my area. It gives a high like no other . Speed and HP are my car intentions. RACING is what I live for now, that first place spot.

gotrice93
03-06-2009, 02:42 PM
see i use to be into racing and speed but now im falling towards show..but once im done believe me she wont be a trailer queen

Unfortunately, she will never be a perfect 10 in some judges eyes. I've seen judges dock a point for a car's motor been fired before.

i rather lose points then own a trailer queen. I HATE TRAILER QUEENS

Well you probably seen my cars ebay pics, of not just peep my members profile page, but keepin all the shine shiny driving it hard and breakin stuff, shit gets so dirty and some places are bout impossible to get to without having the motor pulled. I tried to keep it clean best I could but driving it so much you can't really keep up well for me I couldn't . And having a body kit, rock chips are something you can't avoid so constant trips to the paint\body shop gets to be routine. Basic repairs and maintenance is like 5 times harder and longer, cause your wanting to clean up this, paint that, re polish , or powder coat that, and being ever so careful not to grease up this piece or scratch that piece when parts need serviced. It would stress me so much to see oil spots here or oxidizing metal here. I was always under my hood. But yeah when I get my current build complete it'll have some eye candy, but go go go go go goooo go break snap , upgrade GOOOOOO go go , will be what's brainwash in for my Integra beast.

So do I, but car shows can be a Dog Eat Dog world.

gotrice93
03-06-2009, 04:00 PM
yeah im also from montana. we dont have many shows, what im aiming for by show is one that doesn not see rain, snow or bad weather period. i want one that i can go drive on nice sunny summer days along with attend show with. thats what im aiming for, not strictly sema style

Backwoodz Tuner
03-06-2009, 04:15 PM
Yeah that would be nice to have a car like that, to garage in the bad weather and drive on the goood. Someday I will though. But it will probaly have to be trailered since I will be takin it to the drag strip when its nice

bump new plans: looks like im just going to do s2000 interior and keep the del sol look out side. im gonna take the money that i was going to put into the conversion and boost it. depending on my funds when im ready for this i might drop a boosted b16 in instead of boosting my d15. this came to me after i drove the shop truck at my work. its boosting 42lbs..not bad for a delivery truck..6.4-liter V8 delivers 350 horsepower at 3,000 rpm and a massive 650 pound-feet of torque at 2,000 rpm. my boss made fun of me when he saw my motor and said i need to do something to it

justin
04-01-2009, 12:38 AM
IMO better choice!

gotrice93
04-01-2009, 12:40 AM
i think it is a better choice also. i thought about it and i am a huge fan of the del sol looks..and thats the one thing i like about it is the front and back

Brian

if you are going to go with a turbo B-series, a better combo is a B18A/B or a B20. They are the best B series to boost.

Just plan on spending allot of money getting it running right. You want it to be reliable because it is your DD.

no offense taken. i was actually looking at an s2000 while im home, there is one in missoula mt, but i have decided to get something that sits more then 2 people and has 4x4 because i live in montana and i love being in the mountains snowmobiling and riding 4 wheelers along with camping so i need a truck and thats what im going to be buying. i honestly dont think its gonna cost me all the to do this project. this car will not see a shop until its ready to have the motor built and to be tuned. everything else i will do including body work and paint along with stereo.

yeah but rwd ftw!!!! haha

gotrice93
04-02-2009, 05:51 PM
haha RWD truck that can run ur shit over ftw....our shop truck that i use for deliveries has a better 0-60 time fully loaded then my car. 0-60 in 8.5 seconds pulling a trailer with a bobcat on it

Tmo_BB6
04-02-2009, 06:00 PM
yeah but that truck isn't yours =p del sols are pretty sweet and you would probably appreciate it a lot more if you did the work yourself so i can definitely see that side of it, but s2000's are just sooo sick.... I would consider trading my lude for one anyday... Not saying i would do it, but i would consider it easily.

gotrice93
04-02-2009, 06:07 PM
lol i know its not my truck but its one reason i want a diesel truck even though ill probably end up getting a gas truck. and i considered selling my del sol to put towards an s2000 but its my baby

Tmo_BB6
04-02-2009, 06:11 PM
well actually i changed my mind, dont get a s2000 because then I will be forever jealous of you hahaha....

gotrice93
04-02-2009, 06:14 PM
lol maybe one day i will get one! dont tell ninja im not buying subaru. he had me convinced subaru was the best way and now im leaning towards a chevy crew cab

Tmo_BB6
04-02-2009, 06:23 PM
Personally I'm not a fan of chevy, but it is completely my opinion and has no real basis or reason behind it haha. But i guess some older chevys can be pretty badass. For sure though about the s2000 eventually, It will probably be my first rwd car unless i get a suby before then haha

gotrice93
04-03-2009, 01:05 PM
yeah ill make sure i keep updates. my plan is to pull the motor out of my old beater truck and rebuild it over the summer and then park the del sol and start it during the fall and have it driving for summer of 2010..idk if it will be possible with money flow since im going to do a different motor. so maybe by 2010 ill be driving with my d15 still

so from reading the first little bit of your post it sounds like you should just get a s2000 lol. but honeslty me personaly i dont think the s2k front end would look right and i used to like the s2k taillights on del sol but to be blunt that was in my ricer days.

im just giving my opinion but if thats what you like then go for it
