My 99 Honda Integra Type R Sedan

Just thought i'd drop a quick post on here. Good ol' Brendan (Milanored92eg) sent me a link to this page to show me his car a few months back. Enough babbling, here's my project car since 3 Jan 07. Has been on OhSnaps section of US Honda Tuning Dec 2007

This is something you rarely see the US as Honda only ever manufactured 1631 98 Integra Type R sedans known as DB8 Type R. Some have been destroyed in Japan and there's only about 15 in NZ, from my knowledge about all over US. It isn't really that modified as I'm trying to keep it as original as possible to keep its value.

2.25" straight through exhaust
60mm throttle body and intake manifold
S4C Gearbox with 4.7 final drive, LSD equipped

This was the perfect ride height for me then but being a University student with limited income and needing to pay rent, i didn't have much money to mod the car at that time especially after working to save to buy this car from 2005

First things first, i got the filter changed to a spoon one since the factory one was pretty tired

From here i was just going to focus building the S2000 but later realised i didn't want to since it's only done 33,000kms and decided to keep it as stock as possible

I popped into track day which was the car's 2nd outting and realised how much potential it still had compared to an S2000. S2000s do cost a lot to repair if i crashed it so i was back to work on it

The factory exhaust was getting too quiet so i swapped for a mugen power item with Kakimoto R Mid pipe. Catalytic converter was also removed to improve performance

I have bought other parts like Blox Sump Plugs, Defi Smoked Gauges, 1 piece FRP bucket seat, super low seat rails, new wheels but haven't got pics of them or installed them into the car. This car is still work in progress so keep an eye out for updates but needless to say, it's nearly finished as i intend to buy a house & another car later this year or next

I did have a mugen front bumper on the car and CE28 Rays engineering wheels on the car for a while but I took it off as i was going to sell the car at one short point of ownership =(

This is the original kakimoto R exhaust that i was meant to install. Check out the size of it incomparison to the factory 98 spec one. Ended up going to twin loop as we had problems mounting it up.

This is the size of a factory 98 spec exhaust system, 2.25" straight through from header to the exhaust. We also cut out the catalytic converter as NZ doesn't require us to have it. If not i would have done the Burns Collector setup

Here's some new pics with the new wheels. Off set is +40 compared to original factory which was +50. Also added some spacers on the front. Guard rubs on front really badly but hope you guys like the look.

I've always wanted MF10s in black and silver lip so manage to find a set of silver ones. Then got the face painted and left the lip in polished silver. Im kinda regretting as it looks funny! Looks kinda like ROTAs... I will get some green wheels soon and put the gauges in soon. Either way, here's some pics with my car and our group, The 8 Walkers but only 5 was there. LoL!

Just manage to get some lowered seat rails this evening. Wow the driving experience was way more phenomenal compared to the original integra type R seat rails. Will post some pics soon. There was about an inch height difference! =)

Also got some J's racing daytime lights for my front bumper. It's similar to the Civic RR advanced one. What does everyone think? Good or bad idea to put it on?

Ended up not installing those J's Racing Lights. Thought it was a bit rice so thought no. Haven't updated anything due to work commitments. Installed in J's Racing 4 < 2 < 1 headers about 2 months back

Cost nearly 500 to make. Now thinking of selling it as don't want it. Weighs maybe 200grams. Make me an offer if you want! Im after 200USD or so. Postage will cost next to nothing since weighs nothing :) Also fits EK. Made from full dry carbon!!

Also installed my oil temp, oil pressure gauge, VAFC and tuned. Also manage to install a JDM one piece seat and an FD2R knob. Shifts better!

Will keep you guys posted on progress. Just bought a nardi deepdish wheel.Going to focus lots on cosmetic this year :)

Anyways i haven't been on here for God knows how long =) Anyways i have installed Apexi RSM, One piece Japanese bucket seat, DC2R low seat rail and 17x8 Evo 9 wheels. Last thing i bought for it was J's racing air duct with carbon airbox. I havent installed duct yet, will get pics along the way. Here's a short video from saturday night in the tunnel hitting vtec.
