Honda’s in house tuning company Mugen is always trying to make the lineup more appealing and aggressive. The latest model to receive Mugen treatment is the 2010 Honda Insight Hybrid.

Mugen has added a front under spoiler, a front sports grille, side spoilers, a rear wing, a rear under spoiler and sports silencers in order to improve air flow. Mugen is also offering two sets of light weight aluminum wheels that will be offered in 15 to 16 inch variants.

Mugen’s effort to go green also comes with an Intelligent-Tire Condition Monitoring System and a tuned sports suspension.

No word on whether the wealth of Mugen accessories will be available in the U.S. However, with the healthy accessory market, don’t be surprised to see some upgrades - perhaps wheels or floor mats - available at your local Honda dealer once the Insight goes on sale on April 22nd.

Damnit, just more part numbers I gotta remember... and Mugen stuff is ridiculously expensive at our dealership. We can't even sell the Mugen wheels, sport suspension or anything to anyone without proof of ownership of a Mugen Si. DUMB! That pic of the Insight looks pretty sweet though :)

Yeah it does kinda resemble a prius, but not as gay IMO. I think it don't look bad. But I wouldn't shell out the cash 4 one though

More info on the Mugen Insight

Perennial Honda tuner Mugen has not taken too kindly to criticism leveled against Honda regarding the styling of the Insight. Honda's newest hybrid star has been criticised by some for looking too much like the Toyota Prius. Mugen aims to change that perception with the Zero-Lift Insight. They have installed an aero kit that's made up of a front sports grille, fog lamps, an aerodynamic front under spoiler, side skirts, ventilated visors and a rear spoiler. An integrated rear diffuser is included also but it is dwarfed as an attention-grabber by the triangular tailpipe. Mugen says the package creates zero lift for the Insight. The car can stand on either aluminum XJ or NR 8-spoke wheels measuring 15-inches or 16-inches. An i-TCMS (intelligent-Tire Condition Monitoring System) forms part of the satefy features. Handling has been improved with a sport suspension package that includes new springs and dampers. The car is then lowered by 20mm. Inside Mugen provided Mugen-labelled sports mats and aluminium sports pedals. The Honda Insight made its world debut at the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It has a 1.3-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that works hand-in-hand with a Nickel Metal Hydride battery. Together the two powertrain systems help it achieve a 400 mile (644km) range.

More info on the basic modeled Insights

According to a report by Nikkei business daily, Toyota is planning to produce a new low-price hybrid aimed at Honda’s Insight that was recently launched in Japan with prices starting under 1.80 million yen (under $19,000 USD). Honda said that 18,000 units of the Insight were ordered during its first month of sales, which is more than three times the company’s monthly target of 5,000. Of course, that was a major scare for*domestic rival Toyota. Sources say the new and cheaper Toyota hybrid will carry a smaller engine than the Prius’ 1.5 liter.

Honda has finally announced the pricing details on the new 2010 Honda Insight Hybrid. As most of you already know, power comes from a 1.3L i-VTEC engine mated to a 10-kw electric motor allowing for an EPA estimated fuel-economy of 40/43 mpg (city/highway). The 2010 Insight will be available in three trim levels including LX, EX and EX with Navi. Starting at $19,800(plus $670 in handling and destination charges), buyers can opt for the 2010 Honda Insight LX. The Insight EX starts at $21,300 and gives you premium features like alloy wheels; cruise control; steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters; an upgraded audio system with six speakers; USB audio interface3; a center console with armrest and storage compartment; and heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals. The Insight EX with Navi will start at $23,100. The 2010 Honda Insight goes on sale next month.

Everything has been settled and it's time to move on.

If someone has a problem with someone else, take it to PM's.
