Here a pic of both k20a3 and my new swap k24a2... heres a comparison of the real v-tec setup that every ones used to compared to the i-vtec-e used for economy on the base rsx and a civic si.

the k20a3 has two cam loops on the intake side and one on the exhaust cam.
this is how this set up works.... the car under 2200 rpm only operates on 12 valves for fuel economy and anything over 2200 rpm the motor operates like a normal 16 valve motor... this set up doesnt really have a "v-tec" transaction so you dont feel or hear it when its operating....

the k24a2 found only in the usdm acura TSX and the JDM accord is more like the v-tec most people are used to... just cleaner and smother transaction when v-tec or should i call it I-vtec... "I" standing for intelligent.
