Isnt the 2zz motor a gts motor? I would like to put that in there now that ive leared the gts motor is better now after i bought the gt! Would it be a strait swap or would stuff need to be modified?

yeah the 2ZZ is the GTS engine.

Not sure about this, but you might be able to do a 2ZZ head swap and get some good power.

Pretty sure the 1ZZ and the 2ZZ have the same block

do you have any idea how expensive that would be. 2500 just for a decent motor and finding a lhd wiring harness is even harder unless your quite good with wiring. plus you cant use the same tranny either. and the weight balance would be horrible going from an n/a with aluminum block to a turbo with a cast iron block. once you found the parts which your probably lookin at around 3-4000 and a rediculous amount of fab work. go with a 2zz with custom turbo setup. the 2zz alone would be a great swap anyway. its like a toyota vtec. if you had time, money, and will power. doing the 3sgte could only be complimented with a full awd drivetrain

GTS motor is nice for N/A because its got the VVTI but the GT motor turbos better. We had a turbo on ours and its was pretty stout, 244whp I think. If you were going to swap the 3S-GTE is best. Motor swaps are a pain I would turbo it.

GTS Swaps are a pain yes the wiring harnesses are totally different and the only way to make sure you have the right parts is a front cut. However the JDM ones are 210 instead of 190 so that could be in option for you.

correction/addition, swap in the 3s gte from the mr2... that is a non-AWD set up from there...

not much of a toyota guy but what about a black top 20 valve with stock ITB's

1zz and 2zz blocks not the same

2zz swap would be outrageously expensive

IF you REALLY want a 2zz...go buy the car to begin with

3sgte would be cool but as said is heavier

4age could be done as well...not as heavy as 3s but heavier than ZZ

No matter what you do there is custom fab work AND custom wiring

Oh snap. Hes really got a point. IMO just buy a neon, do the 2.4 swap for 400 bucks, and then run a 13.9! (with interior)

what can i say... im cheap and quick. a good time not a loong time right. but anyway. selling your car for a gt-s wouldnt be a bad idea, you might even be able to sell yours to get a higher milage gt-s for close to the same price. after all milage doesnt really mean much to us tuners!

You don't want a higher mileage GT-S...you hit the problems sooner :(

The GTS is nice for the 6mt and rear disc brakes. The engine is better if you leave it NA but if you turbo it stay with the GT.

On a side note I would never swap an engine to go 13.9. I would swap the car.

That is a quite comical but true statement, Johann.

yea well if you dont have money its the way to go. you can buy and srt-4 motor for around 800 and swap it into a first gen neon and run low 12's high 11's on all stock motor! thats pretty good especially for a fwd

transmission is to weak for anything more than stock

I'm not trying to completely down play the GT-S...but its only pros are handling and looks, well looks good with TRD action pack or other body kit.

And the celica wont do 13.9 .....with luck you can maybe break into the 14's stock but highly doubt it. with some work low 14's probably....takes real work to do more than that.

And kind of funny...the MRS uses the 1ZZ because it tracked faster lap times in testing than the 2ZZ could!

And unfortuneatly toyotas dont carry the same value, or lack thereof, as mopar products. There is no $800 option for a toyota to run "fast" :(

You can do the 3sge beams Red Top motor making 210hp and i don't know how much at the crank and are still naturaly aspirated motors and oh did I mention it has VVT-I :devilish:

Heres a link of one for sale: I know this one is pricey but if you look around you can get a deal

heres another beams but its a gray top and i think this one has less power than the red top

If not you can go with the regular 3sge like this one
