Chrysler is done (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/01/business/01auto.html).

Doesn't bode well for my Jeep either. :(

Read the article. They did.

It just means that the government is cutting them a break while they restructure their business and figure things out. Chances are they'll recover and business will resume as usual.

They hope. I'm sure major cuts in options and models will happen, just like with GM. Chrysler has partnered with other makers in the past and it seems to have done nothing to help.

Chrysler, Jeep, Eagle, AMC... All Chrysler names and how many are left?

Well AMC was its own company which owned Eagle. Chrysler just bought it out. The Mopar crowd has traditionally been Chrysler, Dodge, and Plymouth. Up until now Plymouth was the only one that failed. Jeep was the only addition that actually made any money for Chrysler. But not enough that the Germans couldn't even make it work.

I guess not, The american public has spoken. Again I will state if Chrysler was producing quality, attractive, and desireable cars they wouldn't be going under or being forced to accept goverment money and an imposed merger with fiat ( a french company).

Toyota,Nissan,Honda, Mitsu,Mazda,BMW,and Audi all have union workers. They are doing just fine. So next excuse for the dying big three...

they may all have union workers, but the UAW union that covers the big three had been causing problems for years... example: there was a TSB from GM about connector pin strength where connectors were FALLING OFF the ecu, repair was a new connector wired in... it was falling off because the UAW made gm lessen the pin strength of the connectors so that the union workers would not get carpal tunnel from doing the job of assembling the car... that is where the quality went, and they are paid almost twice what the toyota union workers are making... yet toyota consistently posts better quality ratings and has better employee morale... hmmmm, i wonder...

OK you do know that most of the " import cars" are built in the good ole USA buy americans that are in the UAW right?? So yeah if the UAW did it in one plant then why wouldn't it be done in all? That is what unions do and I seriously doubt that the were only able to get plant to do it and not all.

yes i know that a lot of "imports" are built in the US... but i have not seen any of those issues with imports... besides, look locally to spokane, the grocery workers union was able to get a good contract from rosauers, but not from safeway and albertsons... so there will be a different UAW contract for each manufacturer, so yes i do think that it would be possible to get one plant but not another...
