I used a clay bar kit on parts of my car that aren't oxidized and need repainted, here is a result photo:

what did you use for clay lube? My car came out great after this weekend, but unfortunately I didn't have time/proper lighting to get decent pictures.

Well I bought the kit last summer, so whatever comes in the kit. It was probably mothers easy detail spray or something, then went over it with a caranauba (sp?) cleaner wax.

Erik,
Cleaner waxes are great at removing minor oxidation. As far as those larger chunks, I can polish them out if it really only is oxidation. It could be clear coat failure.

Cleaner waxes are great at leaving a great shine, but their durability is quite low on the scale. I recommend a good paste carnuba, or a quality sealant such as the JetSeal we have on sale right now. Or if you're feeling spunky, both! I just polished my entire car down and put on two coats of jetseal and then a coat of carnuba over the top of it. I chose Luso Orro because I like how it smells :)
