is there any way to trip the iacv? or go out around it without having to change it from 3 plugs to 2 plugs like all the write up say? cause right now i have a y8 intake manifold thats auto and it is a 3 plug sensor. and i really dont wanna have to buy a new y8 intake manifold if i dont have to

don't think there is a way to bypass it. You shouldn't have to replace the IM. I would just convert it.

yeah i already have this write up this the one im talking about. cause my intake is a auto intake mani and doesnt have the iacv on the back of the intake its on the throttle body. so if i do this converting ill have to get a new y8 intake mani. in which i was wondering if there was another way around it?

from the sounds of it, you might just need the Y8 IM.
You really wouldn't want to keep the Y7 IM anyways. It sucks. I had a Y7 in my hatch and put a Y8 IM on it and it ran allot better and had more power

i dont have a y7. i have a y8 thats automatic. the automatic doesnt have the iacv on the back of the intake manifold its on the throttle body

ooooooohhhhh. Gotcha.
There is a flat spot on the front of the AT IM where a IACV could be mounted but the holes are not drilled. You have to drill the holes out and then you can mount it. You also have to block off the holes in the TB. If you take it to a machine shop, I'm sure they won't charge you very much to do it if you don't feel comfortable doing it
I'll try to find some pics to help you out.

You need to drill this spot out to fit the IACV and then convert it from a 3 to a 2 wire

why do they make the auto ones different from the manual ones? why cant they just both be the same

it kinds weird, because usually Honda makes most things interchangeable

Could you just swap manifolds?

Could you just swap manifolds?
that is what he is trying to avoid. He is trying to make his AT IM work.

Wow I've been reading this thread and this is all new to me. If it were me I'd just customize my auto one like you got and block off the one on your T/B. It don't seem like it would be that difficult to do as long as you have a good vise, some decent drill bits and a tap to tap out for the bolts.

yeah i dont have a drill. it would make more sense just buying a manual y8 intake manifold. i found a y8 intake manifold yesterday on craigs for the $30 but its all the way down in boney lake and i really dont wanna drive that far for a intake manifold

The white one that is on the bottom is the air temp sensor. You will probably throw Code 10 if it's not plugged in.

will it run funny at all?
Brian

as far as I know, people that have a code 10 don't notice it running any different

I'm not sure if it can be done.
The only info I'm finding is a Y8 IM on a Z6
