View Full Version : MASSIVE dent in my fender!

Ok maybe it's not massive... but it is a major eye sore.
So I was making a special delivery of ice cream to the Albertson's on Nevada and I had to get that ice cream in the freezer ASAP. So I parked as close as possible to the entrance. BTW, I ALWAYS park in the boonies because last time I didn't, I scored a door ding. I get my crap inside, and I come out and somebody's let their cart ram my front drivers side fender!! :incazzato:
Long story short, I want this thing fixed on the cheap. Any suggestions or volunteers?? Help is greatly appreciated!! :yesnod:

New fender is the cheapest way. For a body man to pull that out aka me would cost way more then a fender because that is right on a body line.

try dry ice, Ive had mixed results with it.. There is how to videos youtube. Some F*** hit my prelude two days ago and didnt leave a note, been pulling the dent today going to use dry ice on it in a couple days to get the rest of it out. So I know how you feel.. Good luck..

Hey gotrice, how much would it cost just to get most of it out? It doesn't have to be perfect, there's little dings all over. And a new fender would stick out like a sore thumb just as much as the dent...
And I'll look into that dry ice thing, thanks!

try this guy. He does PDR(paintless dent removal). They do really good work and are fairly reasonable. If you took it to a body shop i would say around 200-300 dollars. This PDR is about 80 bucks a panel depending on the time it takes. 208-640-6349. He is out of CdA and can refer you to one in Spokane since he they can't come into eachothers territory. The business name is CARMEDIC...or we can meet up and i can see what it will take and if i can pop it out

If you feel like it, you can give it a shot. I can't imagine it would be too hard, these panels are pretty thin and soft. I'll give you some coin for your time too. I just know 200-300 buck is far out of the question.
I'll be in Spokane tomorrow afternoon, so if you want to look at it for better judgement, you're more than welcome to. If it's gonna be an expensive fix, I'm just going to have to put up with it because I'm flat broke. Thanks for the input you guys.

No problem. im gonna try 100% to save the paint from chipping so i might not be able to get it all out but i can make it less noticeable

I took my fender off today and tried getting some of the dent out, and I did. It's still pretty noticeable, but not near what it was. Thanks Bubba for your efforts and pointers!

Thats ok, we're not tight on space in our freezer. And maybe the longer it sits, the more might pile on... just depends on what freebies I get. So just let me know when you're in town, this box has your name on it.
I really do appreciate you working on it and giving me advice.

My dad couldn't take the temptation any longer, so uhh.... you might be missing a few drumsticks lol. Are you going to be near Spokane sometime? Should we meet in ID somewhere? I gotta get these out of my freezer!

paint's chipped a little bit, but I think it was inevitable. I've got plenty of chips already lol, so I'd rather have that than a dent.
And I'll be sure to tell him to stay away from them!

I picked up some more freebies from the warehouse so my dad will lay off your cones! I threw in some loaded crunch bars to make up the difference. Now I'm gonna tape that sucker shut.

Yeah just drop me a line when you'll be out this way. I still can't believe he opened the box. He thinks he can just do whatever because it's in his freezer... which he didn't pay for and was given to us....

just grab a small hammer and a block of wood. Wrap the wood in something soft like a wash cloth or something so as not to scratch the paint. Then heat the paint with a heat gun or blow dryer and lightly start hammering from the back side with the wood block agains the outside. Eventually you will work the dent out, just go slow and take your time. It sounds hard but once you start it goes pretty easy. And the best part is....IT FREE! lol.
But its understandable to be uncomfortable with doing something like that.
