View Full Version : cressida like whoa.
it's been quite a while, bros.
i got a job, school sucks, been way busy.
anyway, i had this clean factory five speed X73.
then an F250 happened to it.

so i began my rebuild with a new front with URAS hood vent HOLYSHITLIKENOMURAKEN.

the dude who had the front left it outside on the car, so everything was rusty and dirty. hood vent got new paint and rivets:

you wanna buy it?
I'm selling it when I'm done with it.
and this one doesn't have LSD, but it was an option in factory five speeds.
it'll prolly just get welded.

how much and whats the body condition gonna be when u sell it. the next car i buy is gonna be a dd/show car so it has to be a clean body to start with. and this is one of the cars on the top of my list

Please, for the down right sanity of the good Lord Jesus Christ, don't buy this car for a show car! What an absolute waste! Maybe a Daily Drift car, if thats what you mean by DD but anything would be...well...just dumb. Cressidas are not show cars, they are work horses.
What do you mean by body condition?
You could make the car a show car, it would only need new paint to blow shit away
I've made this car with the intent of a car that is a fucking unique head turner, but also be able to perform as good as it looks, IE the Kei Office coilovers, MX83 suspension and brakes, 5 lug, wide 17's, shit like that.
I'm not really planning on keeping it long enough to track it once its finished.

So whats your price? I would buy this just so no one else could have it.

well no car i drive is gonna be a pussy, ill track it, but i want a dd that i can compete well in shows and i happen to like the 70's 80's import look more than any of the new cars. price??? i know i dont have the money now, but if i were to start saving i would need a goal
Considering all of the time, money, work, R&D, and all that has gone into the car, I'd like to get somewhere around $6,000.
This is the PERFECT car for anyone.
Stock engine well kept from the original owner with 125k miles on it is perfect for a daily, but with enough power to track with.
Suspension setup can go lower than ANY suspension setup on the market for X73, but still keeps the travel travel and ride performance for track driving.
Interior is still plush with all leather, the bride will most likely get crushed velvet.
Exterior (flares, vent, etc.) has all been done PROPERLY and done well.
Like I said, all it would need above what I'll be done with is your choice of paint, as this car still has the original paint.
If someone wants a FULL write-up of what I've done to the suspension to justify such a price, I'd be more than happy to give it.

Looks good so far!
My project list includes doing a '89-up , swapping a 1jz with R154. someday it'll happen. They pop up for cheap once in awhile, 7m head gasket blows and the car is value wise worthless.
Keep updated and pics as you go

$6000! I'm down. I want some new pictures! Especially of the hood and wheel fitment!
Run down of the suspension?

I will vouch for the condition of this car. I have seen it in person and it is in great shape. I have seen a few of the cars that Dustin has built good cars. He is also a good guy,I got a bunch of parts for the Supra from him and always got a great deal.

I'm sure he does good work. People who own Cressida's are knowledgable people.
Wellll to begin with, and for the super ADD readers, I used MX83 COMPLETE front suspension and steering with S13 Kei Office coilovers.
For the expanded version:
First, for the front I used the control arms, tension rods, knuckles, tie rods, etc. from an MX83 cressida to bump out the track and to allow for super easy and replaceable 5 lug front setup. X8 spindles, hubs, rotors, and calipers all bolt right in, and the lines from the X7 thread right into the X8 calipers. In order to work the S13 coilovers, a threaded tube has to be welded onto the X8 spindles, so the threaded shock body can be put in:

Gerard from SerialNine was nice enough to throw in some blank SerialNine camber plates that I hogged out to work with the KO top hats, because I would've had to redrill my shock tower to use the S13 camber plates. Yeah, no thanks.
For the rear, the S13 lower mount is larger than the X7 mount, so the X7 mount has to be enlarged to work with them, and then the X7 mount has to be beefed up and boxed. Since the angle the spring sits on the coilover and the angle of the place where it would sit are different, a weld-in perch has to be used for the springs to sit correctly:
(Gerard's subframe, he was prototyping solid spacers and 5 lug hubs. Those are my coils, though.)

I like. Where did you source the Kei Office coil's from? And how do you like them?
Well the car isn't roadworthy yet, so I have no idea how they ride, but they look cool and do coilover stuff.
I got them from Gerard at SerialNine, he had them for god knows how long and never used them after they had been rebuilt.
At least 2 or 3 years, because it's been like 4 or 5 years since Kei Office went under.
