well ive got a 2.4L at my dads and im planing on doing an srt-4 swap. i was gonna just sit around 10lbs on a stock 2.4 block but im gonna go full build. full srt-4 block conversion, new crank, teflon bearings, crower rods, teflon skirt and dome je pistons 8.0's or 8.5's, fidanza flywheel/3+ clutch kit. thats about 6 months down the road. ill probably run a stock head while i build a howell stage six head with stage three cams, thatll take about a year for that. i want to get the hahn stage2 turbo kit with the 20g upgrade. i might go bigger but i have no idea yet. but the way things are lookin, its gonna take a year or more to get the motor completely finished. im a poor white man. then just start replacing every oem piece on the car for either a new one or upgrade wherever possible. i just want to build a crazy ass autox car thats just as reliable on the track as the freeway

did a few hour of tinkering today, took another 3-5lbs off each door, ill probably gut them soon, that will be another 30lb each, fixed all the loose bolts and rattling sounds, fix all the wiring issues ive been having. took out rear seatbelts and mounting brackets. completly remove all airbags, the control unit, and started getting rid of the massive harness. removed remaining dash pieces to ease latter dash work. removed headliner, relocated dome light, which unexplainable went out even though no wires, were cut or toched and fuse is still good. removed all heat insulation from under dash and around shift linkage. started removing sound deadener, but ill save that for the dry ice. most exiting though is my fogs work now. A+.

took out all the sound deadener, the rear seat support, rear wing, it looks a lot better no i think. it is kinda a goofy lookin wing and it didnt have the stripes on it anyway. took out some estra wiring, removed the trunk release. weighed everything at 45 pounds. current weight measured at the dump 2162. im pretty sure that i can get it under 2000, but i dont know where the bigger motor and roll cage will put me

workin on it, i used to have only one seat, but people kept needing rides. my dash pieces arent on, but there is a carbon dash for 300 that not only looks sweet but is fully functional once a get the motor in and the suspension done, ill start doing a lot of custom carbon. doors, fenders, hood, trunk, bumpers, roof. eventually ill get it painted the same color again, but a little darker, thick flake, and the stripes will just be the plain carbon. i dont want it lookin goofy so im gonna paint over the carbon except where the stripes are

well, i was gonna put the 2.4 in my car but its rusted from sitting. so istead of just replacing the rods bearings like it needed, i pretty much gotta rebuild the whole thing.
hot tanked, magnefluxed, crank rotated .25 under, federal main and rod bearings, total seal rings, srt-4 water pump, stratus oil pump, srt-4 timing belt, stratus tensioner, srt-4 lower gasket set. still need to fix the hole in the oil pan, get upper gasket set, crank pulley, pt cruiser alternator assembly. im in a hurry now cause my rear main in my 2.0 is gone. pretty much a quart of oil every 10 miles. i might try to pull the tranny and replace the rear seal tomorrow. but well see. i didnt have the money for this but i need a running motor. hopefully it will put me in the low 13's with the swap. ill post pics when i get them

well i was told that stock 2.4 with a slight weight reduction will run high 13's. my car right now runs a 14 flat. so im hopin for mid 13's at least.

RV places sell 12v hairdryers. Frankly I don't know why something like an electric defroster is not part of every car. You need the freaking defroster while the engine is cold!

so i took my stock 85lb doors and reduced the drivers to 35lbs and the pass to 30lbs. i installed the mirror delete on the passenger side. ill post pics when i can get my laptop workin

havent got that far yet. my laptop is all messed up and none of my usb's work so i cant get the ms hooked up to make sure its runnin right. and i dont wanna start messin with basemaps on the jimstim cause im gonna get a new laptop under warranty as soon as i get off my ass. im still collecting parts right now. im lookin and turnin the engine over about february. the biggest concern right now is getting my engine rehoned at a shop with a good honer cause i had my buddy do it and i about shit when i saw what he did to my cylinders, and making sure its still with stock tolerance. if not, im tossin the block. im pickin up a set of srt rods and 8-1 pistons on payday for 100, if my bore isnt within tolerance, i cant use them and im not spending 1000 on aftermarket internals when the srt stockers will get me safely to 500hp

Be sure you go to a reputable shop. If you need to come all the way to western Wa, do it. I know of a few shops that will definitely get your hone done right.

Do you happen to know what sort of metal your sleeves are made of by any chance?

no sleeves, solid iron block ;) american made heavy as hell. i need to get my hands on a new caliber block, aluminum with sleaves, id lose 100lbs on that alone! i have a shop that can do the hone, but i might drive all the way to the coast and have "Una" tune my MS. hes got an E85 SRT engine is dodge omni GLH and hes on the members only MS boards. hes one of the best custom MS guys for neons, maybe the best

i got bored and updated my main page with the prices i paid for stuff. if i didnt list a price i didnt pay for it, i either already had it or traded stuff for it. so far im only at $2240 into the build!
