cam gears

hey with my build on the turbo f22a4 which cam gear is best, for the timing, 5 bolt or the 3 bolt, ive heard that the 5 bolt can strip out easy, im looking at an aem 5 bolt right now.

Well I would say get a 5 bolt gear, for one reason there's a lot more spots getting clamped down instead of a 3 bolt. There is a little more work to em, when times come to adjust them . And for the bolts stripping out, I bet them people you talked to didn't use torque wrench when they bolted em down and stripped em.

never really heard of a difference between the 2 performance wise, but I would say logically, the 5 bolt would be better

I've got a 6 bolt Skunk2 cam gear I got for my f22, but the head gasket blew before I could use it, so, it's just sitting in the closet
