So I'm looking into getting a CF hood this winter, just wondering what you guys think about these..
Can't go wrong with OEM.

G Force Carbon Fiber Hood

You can look at the site I'm checking out. I'll probably end up ordering from them unless somebody knows another place that's better.

Personally, OEM is nice, but I'd like to have a small scoop that faces forward. Just one almost like the G Force one up there, but I don't really like how there are the curved lines in it. I'd like the scoop to be more rectangular.
Anyway, what do you guys think?

i would go oem all the way.
I like the OEM style ones personally but try to stick with a well known brand like SIEBON or VIS you will have less of a chance of those brands having the latch break and the hood flipping up on the freeway. Keep in mind to to that no cf hoods are made perfect I have almost always had to modify the washer nozzles. Its also seemed like a lot of the hoods also bow in the middle a bit I notice it more from VIS, I don't know I think its how it drys or something. Thats my 0.02 cents.

oem does look good but if you want a good hood that looks good get one from a specialty shop, not somewhere that mass produces them. when i get around to getting my hood im getting it from a shop that specializes in my specific car, they test fit them first to make sure everything is direct bolt on. cant go wrong there

.02 cents is all I get?!
Just playing.
It'd be cool to get a specialty shop to make sure it fits and all, but we don't really have that going on up here, so I'll probably just end up ordering it. It should turn out fine. Still haven't decided, but I'll probably either go with OEM or a VIS one.

Get hood pins too. It'll kill you to drill those holes; but what happens if the latch breaks on the freeway or at the track?
My hood pins are sitting on the shelf in the garage, right now, because I am too much of a pussy to drill holes in my aluminum hood.
Learn from my mistakes. Don't be a pussy. :)

for the most part if you get the hood from somewere like VIS Racing it will fit correctley not like an OEM part but it will fit good ..
And yea for sure hood pins i wouldent even drive with out them on the hood if you plan of driveing fast..

Alright, so I've done some more research, and I'm looking at OEM from either VIS or Seibon. It'll probably end up being Seibon.
Now this might just be on this site, but if a site allows you to select the option of the hood coming with hood pins with the order, are they already drilled? Or is that something that I'll have to do myself. Oh well, I guess I could do it myself if all else fails.
The thing is, I wanted a scoop to aid in circulation and for my intake, but I guess I'll live.

in the long run you are going to be so much happier with oem.

Well good, 'cause I just ordered it. Seibon, y0.
They've gotta process my card tomorrow though 'cause I'm a newb and didn't know it takes like a day for the transaction to go through from savings to checking before you can do anything with it.

Good thing you went with that rather then VIS. I went through 4 of those hoods on my old Prelude. 2 OEM's before the 3rd that came fit correctly, then 2 GT hoods later on. Seibon tends to fit much better, make sure you test fit right when you get it in case you need to send it back.
Seibon and VIS racing have extra support where the latches bolt in. I have speed tested mine up to a good 130 on a track and it has yet to flip up, but hood pins are a great idea. Make sure you re-clear the clear coat they have on the hood soon since it won't last very long, it will start to peal worst the Evo wings.

I've always liked the way the Invader style hoods look. But that's just my opinion
OEM all the way.
Solution to peeling: Garage or some sort of cover.

Well today I got my hood in! It's the Seibon CF OEM hood for my Accord. Started taking off my stock hood earlier too.
I'm going to have to paint my windshield wiper nozzles black so they match, since my car's red.
I'll probably end up getting hood pins eventually, once I figure out how to install them and stuff.
Question: Should I just bring the hood into a paint shop and have them add another layer of clear coat? And if they can do this to a hood that's already got clear coat on it, could they do it to an entire car? :) 'Cause that would be pretty cool, a nice new layer of clear coat....

V mount style hoods are bad ass and functional.

My hood pins, disappointingly, came with no directions at all. None. Horrifying to stand in front of your glossy, black paint and have a drill in your hand.

GUH, well I don't plan on doing it alone. I've got some friends who have experience with that sort of thing, and I'd have them with me. No way am I gonna do that myself... Like you said, I can't imagine standing in front of my nice new glossy carbon fibered goodness with a drill....
I'll post pics of my install later. For now, I'll probably not install the hood pins, but I've still got until around March/April/May before I can drive it anyway.
