going rates?

so what would the going rates be for a good detail job be for inside and out? just wanted to ask so that i would be more informed for when i go to get one at some point...

It really depends on what you need done, and who you go to.

Craigslist "detailers" charge a quarter what I do, and do a terrible, terrible job.

You really get what you pay for. Most dealership "detailers" do a pretty bad job, too. Every now and then there is a good one but the majority just don't care. I'll see if I can dig up a decent one on the east side of the pass for ya.

*Bump* what if we have you detail our car, but it's already pretty damn clean, just a once over, maybe shampoo the carpet or something (leather interior) and a wax job, etc. That gonna cost the same as if I bring you a rig that's been off roading? Haha.

Or is an hour rate thing?
