hey got a? doin a d16y8rebuild with new rings main bearings head gasket t belt oil pump water pump and all other gaskets and have a edlebrock turbo kit to go onto it. can i put the turbo kit on after i freshly rebuild the motor with keeping it under 4000 rpm for 5000 miles?
My main concern would be the gasket's not being seated properly.

You would be fine just keep the boost and rpm down.

In my opinion i'd wait on puttin the turbo kit on, a few reasons for my opinion. #1 after your motors all assembled it would be good to run it for a few hundred miles to be sure the motor is in all working order before adding the extra stess forced induction has on yopur motor. #2 Running it a few hundred miles will assure your new rings have been broke in properly, cause those will be the first to go with boost. #3 And yeah right your gonna be able to take it nice and easy with a snail mounted on your motor, the temptation too high to push the RPM's up and turn the boost up jus a little here and a little there especially if it's ur first turbo build.

he holds a very valid point

^^^Thanks for agreeing^^^ I just think if you put all that time and effort and not to forget to mention the money into something like that, you might as well take ur time, do it right and save ur self the headache of having to pull the motor again just to replace those rings again.

Well aren't you gonna show us all your motors new balls or what??? Let's see how it looks now that you got it all together. But yeah I wouldn't push it too hard so all can get broke in evenly. But post some pics man

Oh I was sayin to post up cause I thought you meant you had your turbo set up all installed. As for the surging problem, does it idle up and down too? I would bet your IAC, Idle Air Control, valve is all plugged up. Like dude posted before me its on the back of your Intake manifold , just pop the bitch of spray the inside real good with some carb cleaner, shake er up real good to help break up any more build up inside, let it dry and reinstall and see if that fix's the problem

Damn man I posted that up a minute or so too late lol. What code is your ecu showing?? Have you re checked your timing since you put it all back together?? Or popped of your spark plugs to see what's goin on internally??

Yeah thats what ive had to do to all hondas that have had that problem, Other then that maby your TPS is starting to go out... ooohhh are you running the boost on it now ? It could be your map sensor getting a weird reading and you need a "Missing Link" maby ??

can that hurt anything cause the edlebrock kit has a voltage clamp? im new with the boost thing

No its ment to work will all turbo kits and help your ecu handle boost better by getting the sensor out of the direct air flow..

i think he would be fine, as long as you dont put it under to much boost, ive seen someone post about this in clubeg6 and a pretty experienced guy told him he would be fine and just get a good dyno tune but i dont think brandon will have to worry about that if he is using stock internals, the thread that im talking about i was reading he was doing a vatara build
