I swear to God, I go to bed, at night and I am imagininig al the spiders I did not see, scurrying under the covers with me. I think about the line in a Harry Potter book, where Ron explains his fear of spiders. His older brothers changed his teddy bear into a huge spider. He's hugging it and suddenly it has too many legs and is all furry.

I like how the spider was going to run up his shirt sleeve. Probly spin a little nest to raise it's babies, in his armpit. Gyah.

GOd I HATE these things. I just called a friend over to my apartment to kill the MOTHERLOAD.

I swear to God I could see the fur from across my room.

Eesh. I have a black widow living in my computer room, but she's cool. Hobo spiders bite you and it doesn't feel like anything until you get a hard lump that forms around the bite. Then a splitting headache that lasts over 21 days and does not respond to pain killers (what joy!), then all your skin starts to die and slough off, for several inches, around the bite.

When I worked for Senske (Pest Control), I had nightmares, every Fall, about those Hobo fuckers. Hate, hate, hate them. We don't have brown recluse here, and hobos are way bigger. Recluse are about 1/4 inch long and you know how big hobos freaking get.

From: http://hobospider.com/info/index.html
http://hobospider.com/images/bd14866_.gif Are Hobo Spiders Brown Recluse Spiders?

http://hobospider.com/images/brecluse.jpgFor years there have been numerous reports of spider bites in the Northwest United States in which the Brown Recluse Spider was blamed, despite the fact that they reside in the Mid-Southern to Southeast United States. Brown Recluse Spiders have bite effects and symptoms that are nearly identical to Hobo Spiders. Because the Brown Recluse Spider is known more throughout the general population, they had been, and still are today, wrongfully accused of the insidious effects of Hobo Spider bites.

We had these back in MD. They would jump on you from the grass and if you were laying out, getting tan, they'd jump on your face. :yesnod:

Portia spiders are smart too. They can be trained and seem to understand strategy and cover and the importance of faking out your prey.
