Why do you want to remove ABS? Is it leaking, or not working? Otherwise it would be kind of silly to remove it.

I was wondering the same thing...

The first thing I would look for is a brake setup from a 94-01 without ABS, if they were made even.

I like my ABS.

But if you don't, you can get the repair manual and pull the ABS fuse.

Unless you are making an All-out race car, to which weight is a serious factor, removing ABS is kind of pointless. You won't be able to out-brake ABS in 95% of all situations. Plus it's a huge safety factor to keep in case of serious emergencies.

pull the brake setup out of a 94-01 Integra RS.

I'm doing the same thing with my 91 DA.

Here is a little info about the ABS removal from a DA Integra. Should be close to the same.

My concern would only be if you rear ended someone and anyone checks out your car and discovers you disabled the ABS "safety feature".

Now you're screwed.

Oooo, yeah that would suck.

The other person's insurance would have a HAYDAY with that.

disabling and removing are completely different. If you remove the ABS and replace it with factory non-ABS parts, I don't see you getting in trouble with that.

The VIN will still report it as a model with ABS.

true...but i doubt they will check that. i am planning on doing a full engine bay wire tuck and i have been kinda researching the ABS delete. The ABS unit is really big and awkward and takes away from the tucked bay. I heard you could use the RS integra parts, what else will i need?? valves? lines? and....??

I'm pretty sure the master cylinder and booster is the only thing you can use from the ABS system

For those who don't know what the ABS Unit on an integra looks like....it is the unit in the bottom left corner of the engine bay directly behind the passenger headlight with all the hard lines coming off it. look at the pic of a non-tucked bay compared to a tucked one.....hopefully mine will look somewhere near this!

Semi STOCK....shock tower tuck (notice ABS unit still there):

Tucked: with ABS unit gone....

I would paint the lines a cooler color. Bright red or ZEX purple.

thanks for the idea Jet

I would keep it...It's a nice feature to have. It doesn't look all that terrible, and maybe painting the lines would help clean it up. As long as the unit is really clean, it looks ok.

I'm getting rid of mine because it doesn't work and it's going to cost a fortune to fix it. Plus, I'm doing a engine bay tuck and getting rid of all that ABS stuff will make it look allot better

I've done it before on my friends integra, you'll need the non abs brake lines, the non abs protortioning valve, brake booster and master cylinder. i got the lines and the pro valve from the wreakig yard and the brake booster and master cylinder from autozone. hope it helps. i'll post pics later
