So i started my car went and got gas, drove it back home and everything was going normal like everyday. Normal driving and normal car running. I left the car on for a couple mintues while i ran inside and when i came back to it to leave this problem came. Studders like it not getting fuel right or something, NO POWER EITHER. My car like studders when revving or idleing and bounces at idle from around 750 to 1000. drives but just has no power only around 3500 to 5500 RPM. studders around all rpm with full throttle. NEED help FAST! PLEASE!

I posted a reply in your "rides" thread. Also, make sure that your timing isn't off a tooth

I second the timing being off a tooth. Are you getting acheck engine light? Iig it's off then you'd get a crank angle sensor code. What you are describing sounds just like my civic after I had my timing belt replaced and my head rebuilt. And the shop I had it left it one tooth off and advanced my ignition timing to cover it up.
How many miles are on the current timing belt. They need to be inspected every 60,000 miles, and should be replaced around 90,000 I think.

opened her up today and the intake cam jumped a tooth. Fixing her up.

Cool man, glad you figured it out before anything major happened. Are you replacing the belt or just moving the cam back in place?

Well i alinged the cames back up (good thing i got to it soon enough before problems) and the belt was put on 10k ago so i reused it. But now i have ANOTHER problem. The car when driving, seems liek it has no problem. Like it just wont get up to speed or accel right. No idea maybe the fuel system, someone told me to check the injectors or fuel filter. My dads yota and civic are doing the same thing to but my will liek stall WAY bad when starting from a stop. Like it will pretty much die and at full throttle, NOTHING. I could race this car in the 1/4 mile and beat in running.
What you guys think?

sounds like a fuel issue to me

Have you checked the spark plug wiring? I had an issue somewhat like that once and I replaced the wiring which was frayed a bit and it worked. I'm just kinda thinking 'cause it happened fastish, so it might've been something that got jostled..?

Since three seperate cars in a household are doing it all of a sudden all at the same time, maybe water in the gasoline?

Well my plans for this weekend it to check fuel injectors, fuel filter, fuel pump.

Ok checked the injectors and they are fine. Bought a new dizzy and dist. cap because the old one looked like if they were burt. all black.
So this is what it is doing. It is not reving or driving at full power. At very low RPM it has absolutely no power to get going.
Anyone know where i need to start? Should I check to make sure that the timing is perfectly inline. Maybe it might have moved some. Or could there be other stuff?

you did the dizzy cap/dizzy, and i'm guessing there is a new rotor as well? check your spark plugs, check your spark plug wires for resistance, make sure they are all sparking. have you ever cleaned the egr out? check your tps voltage. possibly do a compression test and then a leakdown test if things look funny (valves bent from jumping a tooth?). how does your oil/antifreeze look? any sign of them mixing? (chocolate milk looking oil, watery oil, white smoke, etc)....

where is my EGR. I think i know which one it is just not to sure. That is next on the plan. I hope my valves didnt bend. F! that happened to my last motor. How do i make sure my spark plug wires are working? New spark plugs.
I might just have to take it to a shop.

egr cleaning (prelude but the valve should look the same)

yeah i can drive it. Just dont want to. I go down my street everytime i change or clean something or replace. Just drives like it has NO bottom end.
And thanks.
Not to be a dick, but it IS a Honda. :D I kid, I kid. Listen to Cory/BlackIce's advice -- he normally knows what's going on with shitty engines. He's owned enough of them!
Take that, dickhole. Love you Cory <3

If your willing to drive to my place, I would be more than willing to do some troubleshooting with you.

did you ever re-check ignition timing AFTER fixing the timing belt jump??

LOL bitch, my h22 still took your b16.
I forgot to ask, did you figure out why the belt jumped in the first place?

So i took out one of my spark plugs because it looks liek total shit. I replaced it and it is better. I will drive better but still under 3k it is not pulling like it used too.
I am guessing it jumped because i had no idea about the small block that goes on the crank pulley area so it doesnt move. that is my only guess cause it jumped while idleing.
So tomorrow i am going check to see if it is lined up again where the Top Dead and on the pulley with the cover. I may need to go buy new spark plug wires. I will decide that after i have checked themed.
It is runnning pretty good, but i know it did better before. And it will do better. :ihih:

my car was doing the same thing and i replaced the spark plugs, spark plug wires, rotor, and distributar cap. found out that the leads on the cap were bad and some of my wires were too. fixed the problem too. runs great. have you done all of that?

I'd definitely start with these things Zombie says. I had a similar problem. MAJOR power decrease when one of my wires was shot. Replaced all of them, new plugs, rotor/distributor and worked like a charm.
But all in all I think it was just the wires, I replaced everything though to be sure, and 'cause it wasn't that 'spensive.

well i bought a timing light and set that one up. mark on the cover should line up with the individual red mark on the crank pulley right.
ALSO... i found a hose line that is right under my intake manifold that was broken. WTF it looks like it leads to the lil plastic park that comes up from it in the middle. I fiddled with it covered it with my finger and the entire car idled different. So right now, that is my plan to fix that puppy and HOPE that that fixes some of the issues.
What does everyone think?
Also is anyone else seeing this effing windstorm we are getting. I have no power. online on dial up right now, hahaha:cornut:

so my pcv valve was broken from the bottom. So i have to get a new one. Hopfully this fixes the problem. It is the one that has a 45* angle that is stuck in the intake manifold.
