I mean we don'twant a shitload of people payin a buck to sign the car lol. but i mean if you cant afford $20..ya know 10-15 is fine too.

What seats do you have in the Mustang? How are they mounted? Can you get a pic of it for me? I'm thinking of putting the plastic Baja seats in mine. Hoping you have the same set-up.

Dropped a valve in the racecar at practice this last sat. Lukily we caught it before it caused damage to the block. we tore the engine apart and have a new piston and all new gaskets for the whole engine coming. We also took this opertunity to take the pink block and grimy head and paint em blue. matched the valve cover. And we found bolts to plug al our unneccesary holes (02 sensors and stuff) instead of random ruber hoses extending from the hole with bolts shoved in em and stuff. I got pics f the damage and process but my camera is charging. Wont stay on long enough to upload the pics.
EDIT: idk if you been on gustav but i can get that picture in a sec.

@Gustav, The seat was in there before we got the car. It's just bolted strait to the floor with some rigged and poorly welded pieces of steel.

Good thing you caught it before it caused a ton of damage! Saved you a bunch of time and money, ha.
Always nice when you can get some much needed work out of the way waiting for parts. Blessing in disguise? Ha.

I think so. Also since we bought the car from some1. We had no clue what he did to the engine and everything. Turns out he put in oversized pistons so were runnin size 40over. Pretty much gave a chnce to know what were runnin. I'm stoked. and we might get it all together in time for the "Jamboree" which is the first race, but not open to the public. I want to get a chance to race with other people without having the weight of hundreds of spectators watchin me lol.

"well i made a ham ad cheese sandwhich and stuck it between ur carb and engine, The gas should eat a hole through it in no time, she'll be purrin like a kitttin in no time. Also if you hear any rattling i think i lost my dentures, but those will help performane too"

Well, today we got the piston. Put that in and put everything back together. Went to start it up and it didn't wanna get goin. Made sure the fuel was gettin there and figured out it was timing. We have an aftermarket cam gear with no timing mark. so the only mark that is painted on the gear isn't right. So tomorow we have to get a stock cam gear and match it to the 1 we ahve on there. Get the decals on.Make sure it runs, and get to the track in time for qualifying. awesome. not only that but im nervous as hell to get out there and run the main evnt. lol. guess we'll see. Anyone wanna watch me lose go ahead and come out. starts at 6 or 7...idk eithers good.

Dear God, Jon. This is how the addiction starts. "It seemed like harmless fun, at first. I borrowed a trailer to get my car to the oval track and they let me race free, since it was my first one! Wasn't that great? Everyone was so helpful and encouraging. Now, 20 years later, I am broke, three mortgages, my wife left me and I scratch my arms and slowly claw my face, every time Jegs has a sale."
Just say no. You should go watch a few times. Wednesday nights are cheaper, I think. I saw a family doing the coolest thing. They would all pick a car and bet a penny on it. I got in for a few races. It was awesome. All of a sudden, you want to know everything about your car and driver. He is your boy and you've been rooting for him, for as long as you can remember [beer helps here]. Everybody's cool and the Northwest Legend cars freaking rock. I want one for my commuter car.

no i meant to help the guy tune his car with regulations lol. i might get into but i cant right now. i looked up the rules for the roadrunner class which i think is the only one he can be in. as long as all the parts are stock hes good to go. i think im gonna sell him a bunch of my frankenstien parts including a majority of my suspension and maybe i get can that thing smoking the competition. only reason being i dont need a lot of stuff on my car and i need money now soo..

well it all depends on what his trouble is. is it not enough grip in corners? or not enough power? the power issue isn't much you can do. most everyone runs carbs, he is probably fuel injected. so you cant up the carb. maybe up compression for more torque? it's not cheap but it might help. biggest issue for me is traction. I haveto slow down in corners too much to keep from spinnin. I also have rear wheel drive and a dif car. stiffer suspension could help him carry faster in the corners, tire pressure, camber, knucklebusters. but idk for sure. I work with my mustang, imports are way different out on the track, but just last week a toyota or nissan idk which tore it up an kicked everyones ass so it has potential.

oh i got some plans for his car now that i know what he wants. ive got everything he needs to turn his car into an acr, that thing will demolish anything in the corners set up right. i can also up his compression quite a bit with some other stuff i have. hes putting the entire drivetrain out of my neon into his and the entire suspension except acr fully adjustable struts hes getting on his own. and i should be able to get him another 50hp over stock numbers too ;) kinda of exciting, i might have to get into it too

i might have a spare merc. cougar to sell soon. It will have a roll bar, 5point harness, door bar, and some other parts. bassically you'd need a engine/tranny and a seat and you'd bne good to go. If anyones interested lemme know i could get it to ya for cheap.

but the cool thing about wednesday nightsis its fairlycompetetive, cheap, and not much time is needed (compared to other racing). you never travel. You can race raceway park and stateline with the same car. It's just for fun. just a nice little hobby too look forward to every wednesday night.

Is it worth spending the money on stickier tires? I feel like, with that car and some Mickey Thompsons, you could floor it and leave it down the whole race.

07-03-2010, 11:28 AM
My car was primered when i got it. then we painted it. that might be what your thinkin. and as for the tires. Yes, stickier tires would help alot but it's a "stock" class so street tires must be used. the slicks are only allowed in Fever 4+ and the car was originally built for Fever so if i tried to use that i think they might try and bump me up and im not ready for Fevers. maybe next yr.

Oh and some dumbass decided to steal one hoodpin off my car sometime in the past week...not trying to be racist but i have a sneaking suspicion it was a certain ethnicity that is known for stealing cars. (or parts)
