My MR2 is not running properly, the vehicle shakes violently when driving. It's like when a car runs out of gas and it starts shaking until it dies, well my MR2 is doing that and I think it's fuel related. Sometimes it stays on and the idle drops real low and even kills it once in a while, what can be causing this? Is there anything else that can cause it, if it's not fuel related?

Specs (just in case)
T3/T4 turbo
315cc injectors (I got 460's for when I tune)
3sgte Map sensor
Walbro 255cc Fuel pump
Apexi SAFC (not installed)

I'll see if I can get a video up. Thanks in advance!

I'd bet money the killer are your injectors. That seems kinda small to me. I'm n/a and I'm running 360cc injectors. I noticed those same issues when I had the stock f22 injectors in my h22. It ran like shit, sputtered, wouldn't idle, it'd eventually bog out and die. Put the bigger injectors in, made a world of difference.

I am assuming the same thing, but since i'm not boosting I didn't think it would affect me, but it's worth a shot. Thanks

Ignition module will do it too. Does it accelerate pretty well but shudders when maintaining speed?

how much boost are you running on that turbo? the injectors definitely seem small for a t3/t4 frame. i run aftermarket 550s on my t28.

sometimes it will accelerate normal and then studders but sometimes it studders while accelerating

I think its at 8psi.

Intermittent problems are frequently electrical. Generally the first to check is a loose ground wire.

I had a problem like that, thought it might be my fuel injectors/fuel pump, replaced all that shit.

Turns out it was just my sparkplug wires. FAIL, but seriously dude, they're cheap, just check/replace all that stuff, wires, plugs, maybe even distributor cap/rotor 'cause together it costs like $40ish versus a $250 fuel pump, haha.

Well I think I've solve the issue, changed out the 315cc injectors to 460cc RX-7 N/A. Now it runs way better, a little rough but I think it's just because it needs a tune now.

are you using stock ecu?!??

and iirc stock 3sgte is 440cc

Stock ecu will only run right with stock components...not much leway on that

Those 460's should be fine ...I'm assuming you mean you're using stock 3sgte ecu. Either way some form of engine management is needed with a tune, sounds like you know that already :)

Nope I'm running my stock 5sfe ecu, I can't run the 3sgte ecu. Yes I'm am running a piggy back. I'm running an Apexi SAFC.

well, personal opinion is that most piggybacks are useless...professional opinion is that AFC's don't work very well with Toyota ECU's, thats not to say it wont work for you though.

I would be very concerned about ignition timing...at the least I think a 3sgte ecu and e-manage ultimate would be good.

Just opinions...i could be just as wrong :D From all I've ever heard a 5SFTE works out pretty good!

Yeah I've been told the same about my timing, I have a emanage blue though and the tuner didn't want to work with it so I got the apexi and me and my cuz 84AE86 have installed it but now the car won't turn on. Everything is right it's just now the car got flooded with gas and won't turn on. And yeah they can handle hp better than the 3sgte from what I heard.

LOL thanks I'd agree also because Im not a fan of yellow
