Ideas on smoking my tail lights

I'm thinkin of smoking my tail lights. I got a 95 accord, so i was thinking of smoking the top and bottom layers which are red, and leaving the middle white. but if i do it i want to go black..not just tinted red. My quetion is, do you think it would turn out well? because i dont want to get it on my car and hate it and have to go to spend time scrubbing it off. for those of you who don't know what the tail lights look liek this is it.

Looked at a few, looks like it could be decent.

My accords green atm, but im not leaving it that color for long. hoping to get it painted a dark grey color soon. But yeah i think i might test it out on my spare tail light that i got, just to see what it looks like before i mess with the 2 on my car.

it will look good i think...vht niteshades and if you dont like it the stuff comes off easy with lacquer thinner

I was gunna do it with the lights still on, just tape it off real well. ill look for the nightshade stuff.

Take the time and pull em off the car it will make a world of difference

I had mine tinted by TurboEp3. Heres some pics he used tinted clear(I think)

ok ill pull em off. It looks like he tinted the whole tail light though on that picture, im going to tape off the clear part. And that flat black color looks sick i like it

yea the whole tail light was tinted...the brake lights were very visible at night also

how many coats did he use? do you know? I was thinkin of going with 1-2 coats at first to see how i like it and then adding more if needed

just do 1 or 2 very very very light coats and let it dry then lay on another very light coat otherwise you will get orange peel

ok cool. I just want more of a darker look. so it looks more like black with a bit of red as opposed to red with slight black. but still visible and everything. Ill test it out on my extra light

yeah i figured it was more then one. Don't think 1 coat would do much. I've read a few tuts online and they say if you go over 3 its too much..but idk

I did like 15 coats, haha. But it's up to you. Not tooooo thin, because you dont' want spotty spray chunks, and not too thick because you don't want drip.

And remember you can always do as many layers as you want to make it darker, it drys pretty fast, ha.

remember you got to have the light visible enough that you dont get hassled by the cops

yeah thats my biggest worry. being a young driver i already got cops on my ass..that would just give em more reason.
