Sorry, now you all have the Klondike bar song, stuck in your heads.

Something is inside of it! What could it be? I don't know either. It sounds like shot or crack rocks. Not a little. LOTS! It's almost full of whatever it is. It seriously sounds like hundreds of ball bearings.

The old one was bent so I finally (three years later) replaced it. On laying down the old one, it sounded like there were old rollerskate bearings inside.

I figured out what it sounds like precisely! Shake a dead-blow hammer. It sounds exactly like that. Here's the video. Sorry for the bad lighting but it makes me prettier. Those who have seen me in other videos know....

Empty makes a sound? Or is that all the dead moths rattling around in there?

So far, the consensus is that it's probably lead shot. Reduces vibration or something. While simultaneously making the part four times heavier than it should be.

Turns out filling suspension parts with lead shot goes way back. Hot rodders would take apart their suspension parts and dump it out, to lighten the vehicle. It's where the term "get the lead out" originated.
