One of my coworkers has a vinyl logo of our construction company on his personal rig and is considering removing it. More specifically, having me remove it lol. Anybody can take a sticker off, but he wants it to look like it wasn't there in the first place.
Suggestions for best removal products? Should I buff it up afterwards? Advise would greatly be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

what i would do is remove the vinyl, and then give it a good wash and the hit it with some scratch-x, then buff it and then wax it. but that's just me....

I bet Ty'd have something to say about this, ha. In my experience (almost none, lol) I'd probably say warm it up, peel it off, and then wash, buff and maybe even polish the area to get all the residue off?

Eraser wheels work amazing but that requires buying one.

YouTube- Using the 3M Stripe Off Wheel (eraser wheel) They leave a scuff but the scuff buffs out. They are safe for paint just don't stay in one spot for to long.

Yeah I was thinking I would need to hit it with a buffer. I'm hopping Ty would chime in as well lol, but it looks like he hasn't seen either of my little situations haha.
EDIT: Looks like that thing scratching the crap out of that truck lol
Here is what I would do. Either get it in the sun or use a hair dryer on the "low" setting and SLOWLY peel it off. Take your time -- rushing always gets poor results.
When you get it all the way off use some 3M Adhesive remover (I love this stuff) and a quality microfiber and maker sure it's all the way the removed.
After that use a polish and a midly aggressive pad to remove any fading and bring the paint up to par. After that use a finishing polish and pad to clean up any holograms and swirls and you're good to go!
Follow up with your favorite sealant and top with a good wax.

dont use a buffing wheel, its good for 3m and adhesives and thicker stuff. but that's overkill
for vinyl...just use a heat gun.....and peel it straight off. than use a tar remover for the rest
of the sticker adhesive. and clean up....
you can even use an old hair dryer. just hold your hand over the back of the dryer to
overheat the element to make it hotter. (use an old one this may break it....)

So what kind of buffer should I use? I'll be needing one in the future obviously, so I may as well buy it now. Good place to pick up pads? And would I need a sealant? I'll wax it of course, but he probably won't ever wash this thing again lol. Thanks for your insight!

Naw, I have never seen one scratch but have seen people burn through paint from holding it in one place for to long. They work great but I wouldn't go out an buy one just for the vinyl. I would use one on it but I also own a couple.

lol ty you beat me.........hahahahaha
Bmer, I really like my Flex Lightweight Rotary. I highly suggest you start out with a Porter Cable 7424XP here (http://www.detailersdomain.com/theuberportercable7424xpwithmenzernapolishes16ozki t.aspx/)
It's a kit that has some of the same pads and has the same polishes that I use and love. If you have in time for the detail in the end of May, I can show you how to properly use it during that detail.
PM me and I can get you setup with that vendor -- he carries a lot of what I use and I can get you setup pretty well for fairly cheap between him and some other vendors I frequent.
