yea thats pretty clean though, you can just have it riveted and epoxyied on, but if you want it all flush your gonna need some bondo and a repaint. if you have the scoop it should only cost about 20-30 in bondo paints and primers for a good quality finish
Are you doing an EJ swap?
yeah theres and ej257 (v.7 STi) longblock waiting to go in it..:devilish:
i have the scoop and the hood and from there im stuck.. scoop is brand new, and primed
wanting to bondo it on but ive never worked with it

But what happens when he makes the jump to hyperspace and it flies off? Haha.
As far as Bondo-ing it on and smoothing it out, repainting, that parts actually pretty easy. The part that I would be most uncomfortable with is taking a jig saw and drill to my hood without experience, haha.

Since the hood scoop is fiberglass do not use a bondo. Bondo is more likely to crack because it is not meant to form a bond with anything but metal. I would suggest using a Long-strand fiberglass reinforced filler.
Why not just get a 2.5RS hood? Oh and just an FYI the ej257 doesn't come out the V.7 STi. V7 is the Bugeye 01-03, either way those Subaru's only came with 2ltr. They didn't start putting the 2.5ltr's in the STi's until 2004 and that was only in the US.

^thanks for the info, i guessed on the version, i thought the v7s were 06-07, and v8s were the 08+, this is my first boosted subie, so far ive only had to learn the n/a ej's
2.5rs hood wont fit the legacys, one of them is wider, dont remember which, i thought about molding in some of the vents from the 2.5rs but decided against it

3M tape is what holds hood scoops on, from the factory :) I'm surprised yours did not come with it already installed, on the bottom. All those 2007+ Mustangs with the fake hood scoops? 3M tape. Fake brake vents? 3M tape.
I'd like to get hold of the glue they use to hold doors on. Hinges are glued. They have been since the 1970s. With my luck, I'd get that crap in my hair and glue one of my fingers up my nose. That'd be a great trip to the emergency room, eh?
