Conventional Fillers

Heavyweight fillers
Composition: Polyester resins and talc particles
Characteristics: Smooth sanding; fine feather-edging; non-sagging; less pinholing than lightweight fillers.
Application: Dents, dings, and gouging in metal panels

Lightweight fillers
Composition: Microsphere glass bubbles; fine grain talc; polyester resins
Characteristics: Spreads easily; non-shrinking; homogenous (corresponding in structure because of a common origin.);no setting
Application: Dings, dents, and gouges in metal panels

Premium fillers
Composition: Microspheres; talc; polyester resin; special chemical additives.
Characteristics: Sands quickly and easily; creamy and moist; spreads smooth without pinholes; dries tack-free; will not sag
Application: Ding, dents, and gouges in metal panels

Fiberglass Reinforced Fillers

Short-strand
Composition: Small fiberglass strands; polyester resins
Characteristics:Waterproof; stronger than regular fillers
Application:Fills small rustouts and holes; used with fiberglass cloth to bridge larger rustouts

Long-strand
Composition: Long fiberglass stands; polyester resins
Characteristics:Waterproof; stronger than short-strand fiberglass fillers; bridges small holes without matte or cloth
Application: Cracked or shattered fiberglass; repairing rustout holes, and tears

Specialty Fillers

Aluminum filler
Composition: Aluminum flakes and powders; polyester resins
Characteristics:Waterproof, spreads smoothly; high level of quality and durability
Application: Restoring classic and exotic vehicles

Finishing filler/Polyester putty
Composition: High-resin content: fine talc particles; microsphere glass bubbles
Characteristics:Ultrasmooth and creamy; tack-free; non-shrinking; eliminates need for air dry-type glazing putty
Application: Fills pinholes and sand scratches in metal, filler, fiberglass and old finished

Sprayable filler/Polyester primer-surfacer
Composition: High-viscosity polyester resins; talc particles; liquid hardener
Characteristics:Virtually non-shrinking; prevents bleed-through; eliminates primer/glazing/primer procedure
Application: Fills file marks, sand scratches, mildly cracked or crazed paint films, and pinholes; seals fillers ans old finishes against bleedthrough


EDIT: It isn't called "Bondo"; Bondo is a brand, it is called body filler
