1992 240SX 5 speed Vert

So I bought supeRB's 240SX convertible :cornut:. Looks and drives great! It is basically bone stock, except for the 5 speed swap. Bought it for $2200. For now it will stay stock, since I will be making my 240SX hatch into a track car and will be putting most of my money into that. Will keep everyone updated on what I do to it in the future. Probably will be putting my new Megan M-DT muffler on the vert since i no longer care about how loud the exhaust on the hatch is.

You DO know that JDM s13 vert are RARE as fcuk, right?
They only produce about 800 of them.....22 years ago!!
The top mechenism is way different, yes! WAAAYYY different then the usdm s13 vert!
I'll kill to own one! Well not kill, but, really. I'll trade my yellow coupe for one!!

if I were you,I would save up for coilovers instead of lowering spring.
my other vert has them and the shock just like to blow.specially the vert are way more heavier then coupe and hatch.
(yea, I have a 93 vert with auto, that I let my doughter drive. for 2 years now)

I have a pair(2) of 20mm bolt-on 4 lug spacer from project kics. paid $110.
no more 4 lug for me. $50 and they are yours??

yeah i was jus goin 2 go with lowering springs for now since the price for new struts and springs is half the price of new coilovers (depending on which coilovers you look at).......i was thinking of saving up and buying coilovers for the hatch and swaping the KYBs and Eibachs off the hatch and putting them on the vert

and yeah i will buy those spacers.....probably not till next weekend though

I wouldn't say the vert is much heavier, in fact it's the same weight as my brother's fastback. The distribution is different though. There is more weight in the rear. Actually the weight distribution is best in the vert, but the chassis flexes a lot, so it's not very good for racing without any kind of stiffening, ha ha.

from the site, I remember the verts are about 400 lb heavier.
But I never weighted the vert myself.

Weird, I weighed mine and it was just over 2700 lbs. My brothers fastback was 2700 even. My coupe is 2640 with a full tank (2560 with 1/4 tank).

DAMN IT!!! i cant believe you figured it out first guess 509nestor!!! lol yes i plan to do a VH45 swap.....i thought about doing it to my hatch about two years back but decided im going to make it my track cas so im turboing it....and last night when i went to kinda race a bone stock base model Cobalt and lost horribly i thought to myself what can i do to make this car faster for not to much....so i looked up the VH45 again....watched some youtube vids of the VH and i was hooked again lol....so yeah VH45 it is lol

yea i want to do it too but its more fab on mine then yours but thAT IS a cool swap and even better with a tranny of a 300zx tt but then you need an adapter plate

how much more work is needed to fit it in your car??? and i would like to use the 300ZX TT trans but im not 100% sure whether i will or not......N/A trans is slightly cheaper and a bit easier to find.....either way its going to be a manual since someone already went through the trouble of making my vert 5 speed lol
