My wintry adventure...

I had to take my brother to the airport this morning, which meant I had to drive to Snowkane (Spokane). The drive up there wasn't too bad, the snow plows were out pushing everything off the roadway. I happened to get behind a fleet of 2 snow plows which was a bit scary. The snow is powder and it was windy and blowing back at me at times I had to slow way down because I couldn't even see the flashing lights on the plows. I got to the airport really easy, despite the larger SUV's getting mad because I could get much traction going up Sunset Hill. After that, I figured, hmmm... Discount Tire may be open, I need my tires rotated, since I'm up here I might as well do it. Well... I drove to the one out toward Sprague. Hah, ghostown, and HUGE berms of snow everywhere! So I decided to head back to Moscow since I had nothing else to do. On my way back I saw 3 people in the ditches on I90, it was a mess. The funny thing is, they were all TRUCKS or SUV's, they should SLOW THE FUCK DOWN like everyone else. I have a picture of one of them high centered on the dividor between eastbound and westbound I90. Did some panning with the cell phone as I drove by.

On my way back... everything that hit the window froze to it. Everyone was on the side of the road scraping their windows so they could see, even the snow plows. Once I got closer to Pullman, it was much better since its a tad warmer down here. The front of my car is an icicle. I will post pictures in a minute or two.

I have to drive up to Spokane International Airport tomorrow morning. I fly to Burbank, CA! Woohooo! Hope it doesn't get canceled!

good thing you mad it bck mahn, take it easy. Tough tmes in whatcom, the county sold all the plows to snohomish county a couple years back. We got 2 plows for the entire county. ugh!!!!!!!1

it is. i was in everett yesterday before last nights storm hit. it was a little better then mount vernon/ burlington but not much better. and seattle is pretty messed up right now too. it was snowing throughout the seahawks game today.

There's starting to be slush here and there on the Bellingham main roads... Looking at the 10 day report, it seems the temperature is rising... I'd like to drive my 240 again... GRRRHH

It has nto stopped snowing for a week, it seems like. I know it started on Wednesday but we have gotten either feet or inches every day since then. Today I switched to using the broom to "shovel" as it's like dust. I sweep to the edges then use the shovel to scoop it up and throw it into the neighbor's yard :)

I sweep the snow too! People might look at me like i'm stupid, but whatever. I've lived in the PNW my whole life, I'm not going to shovel snow I don't have to!

We've gotten about 3 inches over the past 1-2 hours. I think we are at a foot and a half or so.

Snow is supposed to stop for a couple of days then it'll warm up and snow more. Humidity is 91%! That's ridiculous. The snow has been evaporating and gradually compressing down so where it sits on my garage is getting shorter and shorter. That's cool but shovelling this stuff is cake. I don't want to shovel any 35 degree snow right now. My back is not happy with me.

We've had this weird clear blue sky for the past 2 weeks! No snow at all, just cold cold cold. The high today is like 12 degrees. But I have to say I like it more than snow.

My VW hasnt been driven in over a week, but its nice and dry in the garage :) But I have been taking the Subie everywhere :)
