I noticed today that my car is bogging a bit. It still drives normal but if i step on it even a bit the acceleration isnt what it used to be. I thought it was because i was low on gas so i filled it and was drivin next to my friend and she said my car sounded funny when i acclerated quickly. I don't usually hotdog it around all the time but i noticed when i let the rpms climb in first gear im onlyreaching 20-25mph when i used to get30-35. any ideas on what this could be? car sounds to melike its more raspy i that makes sense. only way i can describe it. one more thing, it seems like the rpm's dont drop as fast. could it be the throttle body?

Clean your t/b really good (don't use carb cleaner, use actual t/b cleaner). Also, do an oil change. Old, thick oil can really hurt performance.

When was the last time that you did a tune-up on it?

if you run it really low on gas might change out the fuel filter

changing distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs, and spark plug wires is a good place to start....especially if u havent done it since you bought the car

i need to do the same tune-up to the vert

thats also a very good idea, and only 60 bucks i would guess. i always do that first when i buy a car

You've owned your car almost a year and have only put 3000 miles on it? man I have put that on in a week a couple times.

a normal tune up should only cost about $70-$100....if you do it your self of course lol

atm i have $50 for gas, snacks, and a concert i've been plannin on goin to for a while now until next month. So, ill use my dads discount on the throttle body cleaner and buy new spark plugs. and we get free oil anyway. I'll see how that goes. And probably some new spark plug wires cuz i wanna paint my valve cover and match em.
