Hey guys I picked up a used black dash for my integra and when I got it home I realized there is a small "dent" in the padding on the dash. Its the piece above the cluster. The material seems kinda squishy but I'm not sure how to get it out. It looks like it was leaned up against somthing for a while, like a pipe, or something.

Any suggestions on how to get rid of it? Or will it come out on its own? I'll get some pics here ASAP.

wow 57 views and nothing?! Well as an update I put some mineral oil on the problem spot in an attempt to soften it up. I don't really know what else to do. Not a whole lot of info on the web.

IDK about mineral oil... I think that'll dry the plastic out (read: THINK).
You could try a hair dryer; that will make it warm and pliable...
Don't get it too hot, though...

Yeah applying some heat and massaging it is all I could think of as well. Have you tried googling it? (The homepage is FTW today, it's a Pac Man game:cornut:)

Well actually mineral oil is great for reviving vinyls and plastics because it has a great deal of essential oils in it. I have not yet tried the heat method bu it is my next step. Someone also told me it just may fix itself over time. So idk, guess it'll be a waiting game haha. I'm putting it in tomorrow hopefully. Maybe the sun will help the process along.

I've seen stuff like this before, never thought about attempting to fix it though! I'd go with what they say, heat it up, see if you can get it to kind of pop out. Otherwise I don't know man, sorry!

Well I only paid $20 for it so I'm not oo displeased. I think over time it'll come out.

Well tried applying heat last night and so far no noticeable differences. I'm cruising down to "Tha Backwoodz Tuner" place to hang out and and swap the dash over.

Thanks for the suggestions!
