Here is my dsm in progress. It needs some work, but its coming along.
1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS
5 speed
150k on block
10k on rebuilt head
15% tint all the way around
2 Way clifford alarm w/power door locks installed
Skunk 2 coilovers
kyb struts
V-leds premium H.I.D. kit (6000k purple tint)
Ebay cold air intake
No name strut bars
c-pillar bar
B&M short shifter set at 50% reduction
Stainless headers (wrapped)/downpipe/exhaust 2.5" w/ 4" outlet
Blacked out tail lights and marker lights
Just installed a set of lambo doors a few weeks ago
I have the 97-99 front and rear conversion, but it needs painted. I am planning on painting and converting it soon, but its all about $$$ at this point. I even have black housing projectors to throw on. I will continue to post pics as the progress comes along. Here she is now.

...Looks like you've put some time and money into your 2G. What are your plans for increasing the butt dyno numbers? IMO, there's no point for a car looking good if it can't go fast (or at least quick).
Good work, nonetheless. I can appreciate attention to detail.

I am planning on going turbo as soon as I can afford it. I would like to do some sort of swap with a better motor than a 420a, but buying a different motor, building it, swapping, and putting a turbo on it is way too far out of my price range. I think I am going to keep this motor in it for a while since it has a head, and will get a 2nd 420a to put on a motor stand and build the shit out of it and turbo that. It would be a pretty simple swap at that point.

4G63 FTW!
You can buy a turbo'd 4G63 from Japan with a 5M/T for <$1500.
IMO, that's the best way to go... As long as it's a 6-bolt, and not a 7-bolt.

Looks good man. How many cars have you owned before this? I've always liked that gen Eclipse, my girlfriend has a '99 GSX and I love it. Gonna be playing with that. I'll be making build threads and stuff soon, so feel free to comment back and forth!

The purple tinted lights are OEM hids jackass. Ever seen the stock lights on the newer bmw's? Guess not...

Ive had a couple cars before this, but they have always been hondas. They were cheap and easy to work on. I had a prelude, a crx, and a civic hatch. My farthest project was my hatch. I did a b18a1 swap into it. I bought the crx with a b16 in it. I had to get rid of my prelude before I did the h22 swap. This is my first dsm.
Ive always liked this gen too, but have always shyd away from it because of the trannys. It uses a dodge transmission, and they have been pretty renown for going out alot faster than what I wanted to deal with...but I decided I would go with it and see how I fend. So far, no tranny problems. 5 spd shifts like butter. All the probelms are elsewhere, but easy fixes.

I got the car with the intensions of doing a 6 bolt 4g63 swap, but everything that I hear about it is a major pain in the ass. I decided to stick with the 420a and see what I can make of it. Hopefully it will turn out good.
Thanks to everyone who is supportive, even if you dont like the mods done, or wouldnt do them to your car. Modding cars is an art, and not everyone has the same taste in art...but everyone can still appreciate it for what it is. I would never criticize someone for doing something to their car that they feel they want to do. To each his own, and to those of you who think that your way of building is the ONLY way and everybody NEEDS to follow your example or they dont know what they are doing...go somewhere else. You obviously cant appreciate the differences in people. Take your infalted ego and believes to a different thread. There is no room for it here.

looks good man!! nice progress so far...dont listen to him about the HID's man i have 10000K deep blue ones for my lows and 3000k yellows as my high beams, also lambo's look clean on your ride man. my exhaust is 2.5" all the way back with a 4" tip and mine sounds reeeeeeally deep and not that raspy annoying "ricer fart can" noise. he has obvioulsy been drinkin a lot of haterade!!

Yeah, I see the pics of your headlights. They look hella good with the color of your car. The 6000k purple tint are more of a blue anyways, but they have a bit more of a purple than the 6000k blue tint ones. I bought them off www.v-leds.com. They are hella nice (better be for $150 lol).
My exhaust is pretty damn deep too. At least compared to any of my hondas...but thats to be expected. I like the tone it puts out anyways.

Just stop talking right there. 1) You don't have to go all the way to japanaland to get a 4G63T motor or trans, there is plenty of those floating around stateside.
2) That post alone, indicated that you don't know anything about the differences between the 2G turbo models and the 2G non-turbos or what you're talking about when it comes to 4G63s and dsms in general.
A 4G63 is not a cost effictive or worthwhile swap into a 2gnt at all.
Everything in that engine bay is different from the turbo models, even the chassis is different from the GST/TSI FWDs. There is no tunnel to go awd if you wanted to. For the time and effort he would put into swapping a 4g63 in he could have bought 2 or 3 turbo dsms.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with 7 bolts and I know you're referring to crankwalk. Crankwalk can happen in either motor, there are plenty of people making the same power on the 7-bolts as well as the 6 bolt motors...oh and guess what, all the Evos have 7 bolts.
Building a 420A is going to be his best bet for that platform. i probably have a bunch of performance parts laying around off my old 2.0. i know i have multiple valvtrains, just sold my performance A tranny. i also never had any issues with that tranny when i was running the 2.4 and nitrous. depending on where my build goes i might be selling my MSII+ and wideband.

My 10000k i can see fine with....so uhh idk what your talkin about. i can see fine.
you may be able to see fine, but in reality anything over 4500k and you start to lose light output and gain color

my 10000k's are fine. i get more lightthen with stockbulbs. So if your cmparing 10000k-white 4500-6000k then mayeb they have less light but comparing stock to HID they are great
its more color than output...i would rather see the road in all conditions not just when its clear out
i need 3000ks in allllll of my aux lights

yeah, i dont seem to have that big of an issue with em. of course only time im driving at night im up alone on Starr road or trent so i canusually turn my brights on anyway. but i think the color is easier on m eyes then bright white. Cant say the same for othr drivers thgh :P
