Hello all,

Kanchi and AlienVictim actually recommended I join this forum so I'm just joined and settling in by reading some of the other posts on here. Seems like a great multi-make forum of like minded-ish people. I dig it so far

Anyway, here are some shots of my little 2008 tC. (Pardon the cellphone pics, I never remember to use my real camera...) I'm mostly focused on building this car to be a track warrior and hopefully it'll be a track-only car soon enough, but we'll see. Mod list at the bottom of the pics.

The car's nickname is "Lil' Dirty" because one of the guys in my car club would always laugh that I never wash the car. He mixed the fact that I'm short with the fact that the car is never clean and there ya go. I'm too lazy to take off the numbers from my track trips so the #39 has become Lil' Dirty's official number too.

The tC as it stands today. Taken at Pacific Raceways the day I earned my solo license.

Me after having chased down that red S2000 for three full laps and then finally passing him. He was embarassed later in the paddock and kept asking people who was driving "That damn Scion"

Hitting the dyno for a baseline. Engine bone stock.

Dyno'd exactly where I thought it would stock.

And now...now the engine work begins.

Back on the dyno for some tuning

Annnnd done. Bit of a power gain, eh?
http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv48/OneNutMcGee/newdyno.jpg

I had the car for a year before the mod bug got too strong to resist. Immediately upgraded the suspension, brakes, wheels and tires before I even changed the motor. Went auto crossing as soon as I moved here, hit the big track at Pacific Raceways and while the car did excellently even in stock form (pre-suspension upgrades) I hated the straightaway. I'd kill people in the corners only to get eaten on the straights...hence the power upgrade. :)

Welcome to NWT.

Nice car. What are the engine mods besides the turbo setup?

welcome... glad that some people are picking up the toyota/scion slack that i left...

the Echo is the bastard red-headed step child of Kiichiro Toyoda (Wiki FTW). They don't want to acknowledge it, but it still lingers (let the fart and Cranberries song comments begin).

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes! Looking forward to a great time on this board.

Welcome to NWT.

Nice car. What are the engine mods besides the turbo setup?

Right now the engine is modified only on the easy things. 630cc injectors and colder plugs. Everything mechanical has remained the same. This motor (2az-fe) is surprisingly robust for something that sits in the Camry, Rav4, and other relatively mundane 'yotas.

Depending on how much of my racing budget I can pull away we'll see about future head work and if I get really fiesty I might even look into block work...we'll see.

Lol @ ninja

Hah! I didn't realize the word had already spread about my humble little build out. Alien/Kanchi are good dudes. Really made me feel welcome in the scene when I moved here and good people to just hang out with and talk cars.

Thanks man! I'm completely addicted to the track and work pretty hard to get there as much as possible. With this turbo build I lost a lot of my planned racing budget and I might not be able to hit the track much this year, but am definitely going to try and stay sharp.

Do you track? Would love to get out there with people I can talk to rather than people who think I'm automatically slower because I drive a sub $20k car. (I don't have any pictures as I was the only person there that day, but I completely embarrassed a Porsche Cayman S owner at the track the day I got my solo license at PR. I'll tell you the story some time over beers. :biggrin5:)

i wish, when my car was up to track conditions i wasnt lol. i used to do spirited driving against friends on certain watched stretches of roads. between school and life sucking i havnt had money to get my car running again. every time i finish a build or a swap i drive it for a little and tear it down again. after my 2.4 swap and nitrous, i tore it down for boost, then a rwd swap, then life happened, and i havent driven my car since last september.

Yeah, they are pretty chill people. Alien's TC is pretty cool. I really dig the decal he has on the side. And the Kncuks on his tow hook lol.
