That thing is clean for a Ford.... and that's a lot of work done to it too!

They are great cars they just need lots of attention, and never, ever do a burnout in one. i have but i also have not learned the hard lesson of a blown tranny. And hopefully i never will, that's why i stopped. Once i get my Subaru back up to speed i will only drive this thing on slightly longer trips, every time i drive this thing around town, it dies a little inside haha.

Tranny should be fine in that Taurus. It was the automatics that were crap. I have one. Every 20,000 miles, it needs a new tranny. I wish I could put the manual, from a SHO, in mine. Then I wouldn't feel bad about putting money in it.

The transmission in my car is actually a Mazda tranny that was adapted to this motor, they will not work on a duratec or vulcan motor. They did however make a 5 speed for the very first taurii but good luck finding one of those. This is why these tranny's are weak though not as weak as the standard Taurus transmission. These cars also came with an auto but it is only for the SHO's.

Now that I think about it, Ford made a four cylinder, for a year, that had a manual, also. As if the old Taurii (lol!) weren't sucky enough.

The 3.8 in mine had some balls and good torque and was quiet but Ford never fixed the tranny problems. I heard they continued all the way into the very newest ones. Makes me wonder if the 500 had that too.

I saw a green SHO getting busted by the cops. No back plate and the temp tag was not visible through the tint. Looked like your car.

Thanks a lot MetaEnder, and JetBlack that wasn't me haha, my windows have no tint. There are a few of these running around but most of them are slow and worn out because people just don't understand what they are and how to maintain them properly.

Thats a pretty sick intake manifold. Nice work with all the maintenance.
