So, hopefully you don't ever run into this problem but you may if you get an older car thats been sitting for a while as a project. Found some mold on the back seats of my mustang and decided that the forum was pretty dead so i might as well make a tutorial on it :biggrin5: I understand this probably is a pretty strait forward task but whatever.

Materials: Procyon/rubbing alchohol, Rag, nasty seat.

Step 1: Spray the Procyon/cleaner directly on the mold. If using rubbing alchohol pour alchohol on the rag.

Step 2: Rub the area with the rag throughly

Step 3: Let sit in the sun, the sun will kill any remaining bacteria left on the seats.

Step 4: Rub the seats while dry to get all the remaining stuff sluffed off and your done. If there was an issue of smell before, spray with any cleaner or fabric freshener after the seats have been cleaned.

Like i said, pretty easy and mostly common sense but i figured someone might need this somewhere along the road and not know how to deal with the mold.

It also might be a good idea to put a dehumidifier in the car and let it run until there is no water being extracted, depending on the amount of mold inside. Mold can still be back in the vents, behind the door panels, under the dash etc. But I don't think you have much to worry about by the looks of it.

it's easier to remove it from leather seats. Had to do it to a BMW once.
