Everything is up in the air for the 2012 season....

First two tentative dates are:
December 17-18, 2011
January 14-15, 2012


There's also talk that we may be using the north parking lot at SCR, and it's all gravel.

Either I or Mr Yuck will keep you posted.

Remember, these events require at least 15 people to pre-register. Otherwise they get cancelled.

I have heard a bit about this rally stuff on here. Whats the deal with it? Got a link explaining more? It sounds like fun!

^basically it's an autocross in the snow. Less grip so the elements are spaced wider. The scoring is different too, instead of only the fastest run counting, you get one dropped run, the sum of the best 3 is your score. Also classes are simpler: 2wd and 4wd, broken down by experience level.

I was using studded tires in both instances, and they are fine, even with the sliding around on (very) wet pavement and slush, there was no wear visible or missing studs as a result of winter-hoonage.


ALSO: RWD open diff, I never got significantly stuck. The datsun 510 got stuck pretty good with his welded diff, and lots of subarus got stuck because they carried more speed and got into the deeper stuff or were relying all on AWD, therefore rolling on all-season tires.

They are put on by Autosports Northwest, http://www.autosportsnorthwest.org/, the same club that puts on the championship series autocross races.

The Rallycross races are considered a part of the 2012 race season. But there are no points.
