I am sorry to say, when I was in high school, in 1985, I almost stole a police car. I was struggling with my desire to take it when the cop eventually came back.

He was in the back yard, of a friend's house, chasing a guy named Garner Hill, around the pool.

"Why are you running?"

"Why are you chasing me?"

I could hear them.

I am standing outside the open door of the cruiser, looking at the keys, in the ignition and the nice Mossberg 12 gauge on the rack. I really wanted the shotgun more than the car but I get one with the other.

I was going to take it to the local 4x4 pit and thrash around in it for a while, when drive it into the mud pond. I would take the shotgun and stash it in my VW Bus for later. It was all I could do not to take that step forward and make off with the car. In the end I had almost decided to put the car in neutral and let it coast backward down the huge hill, to teach the cop a lesson but I guess it's good I didn't do that either.

One of the kids I went to school with's older brother was in jail the whole time I knew him. He stole a police car and got away from the chase. They eventually caught him as he walked/squished his way home after driving the cop car into the local golf course's swimming pool. They didn't find the car for *weeks* because the course was closed for the winter. Man did he get in trouble for that.

HAHA, that's some funny shit.

I always wondered if they locked their doors when they're all pulled up around places.

Probably don't think anybody would do something that stupid.
