it's a nice shell to work with
What's you plans as far as the engine goes? Keeping the D or upgrading to a B. My suggestion is to at least get a B18A out of a 2nd Gen DA Integra. 140hp in that light hatchback and that thing would scoot.
My experience has been that no matter how built a N/A SOHC D engine is, it is no match for a B series.

Painting does get frustrating. Glad you didn't go the ghetteo fab rolling route. Here's a few pointers when rattle canning. Use primer, always sand between coats, helps the paint stick better, use dry tack cloths to clean any small shit of what your painting there pretty cheap. Also be sure the temperature your painting your part isn't super cold or anythying, at least 65 degrees works best for the paint to stick good. Always paint in light coats, very important to get paint to stick evenly, even if some spots look lighter then others. Its also a good tip to use a whole can then say just half or 2 thirds then saving it to use later, cause when you go back and use that can a few days later , the can looses its pressure and the last little bit always starts doin that spit and splatter shit and could fuck up a whole paint job leaving clumps of paint. But that's just my advice with my experiences usin rattle can. And believe me I've done a lot of it. Just take your time and you'll figure it out what works best for you. But the car seems to be comin along nicely.

yea pulling the head off that many times was a bitch and pulling the intake mani was gay too and the whole time it was only one damn sensor was pluged in wrong thats what really pisses me off.

it wasnt so easy to fix i was in everret 30 miles away from my house on the side of the freeway the side with no off ramps with barely any room to walk around with and when it was fixed i had a dead battery i was stranded for about 4 or 5 hours talk about a shitty day lol

my car hasnt been starting for a couple days now found out its something to do with my main relay bought a new 1 still no start tried de pinning the main relay from my ecu got rid of the humming but no start, got my starter tested and it passed, still trying to problem solve
Backwoodz Tuner
05-09-2009, 09:32 PM
Well are you sure that humming noise wasn't your fuel pump running? Have you checked for spark?Jus remove one of your spark plugs from your motor. Put the spark plug back in the spark plug wire and set it on your valve cover. Then have a buddy turn it over while you watch to see if its sparking. Best to do during the night, makes it easier to see the spark. A bright blueish color is what you want. Orange/red is bad and a weak spark. Have you checked to see if your getting fuel to the fuel rail? Jus loosen the pressure release bolt on top of your fuel filter up on the firewall. The banjo bolt, fuel pressure release bolt, is the smaller bolt on top of one of them larger bolts. There's a copper washer underneath it you don't wanna loose, but actually it should be replaced everytime it's been loosened. But, you can just hammer it flat carefully and reuse it, I've done it many times. Hope some of this helps.

my starters not spinning, and no its not my fuel pump running, i can feel my main relay vibrate as it hums
Backwoodz Tuner
05-09-2009, 09:51 PM
Ok have you checked for power to your starter when you turn it over?? Just hook a test light up to your starter and try turning it over. Your ignition harness thing could be going bad. Its the wireing harness that hooks up to the backside of your key ignition cylinder thing on your steering column.its easy to remove, just 2 phillips head bolts. The other end connects to brown rectangular plug somewhat close to your under fuse panel. But the white part that hooks up to your ignition switch thing on the harness sometimes goes out.I've had to replace a couple before. There pretty cheap and easy to score at the junkyard.
Another thing have you checked to see if your starter has a good solid ground??

05-09-2009, 10:01 PM
thanks for the advice ill check that stuff tommorrow, but do you think the stuff you stated would cause my main relay to humm?
Brian
05-09-2009, 10:04 PM
check your ground on the relay. Bad ground on a relay may make it hum
Backwoodz Tuner
05-09-2009, 10:07 PM
I'm guessing it could, but that's just my guess. But see you said your starter wasn't turning and your main relay don't have nothing to do with the starting system, just the control of power to your fuel pump.

thanks guys for the tips been getting really frustrated with this been working on my car all day and getting no where, im getting more response on here to the problem then honda-tech lol, what is the first thing to happen in start up, your starter spinning, fuel pumping then spark or how does it go

Yeah you probably got replies like , use the search.
Brian
05-09-2009, 10:12 PM
fuel pump should prime first, then you should be getting spark as the starter turns the crankshaft.

Backwoodz Tuner
05-09-2009, 10:51 PM
Have you checked to see if your getting power to your pump? Just unplug the plug from your fuel pump, turn your car to the on position, get your test light and hook it up to the power side of the plug.I can't tell you which one it is off the top of my head, but you can figure it out. And if it don't light up, you more then likely got a pinch in the wiring that goes from the relay to your pump.

will a electrican test light like this work http://www.farnsworthelectronics.com/part%20images/multim10.gif or will i have to get another 1, i can make my fuel pump manualy pump by using a jumper wire from the + of my battery to my starter would you think theres still something wrong with my wires?
Backwoodz Tuner
05-10-2009, 02:56 PM
Sorry man your gonna need a new one.there pretty cheap. You need the kind that look like a pen with a light bulb in it with a wire that comes outta the top with an alligator clip on the end. Or you can jimmy rig one up using a blinker light bulb. Just get 2 wires , electrical tape one end of the wires to the side of the metal part of the bulb, then some how tape up the other end of the wire to the little nipple metal part of the bottom of the bulb. The negative wire is the one connected to the side part and the positive wire is the one connected to the bottom.
But like you said your pump turns on with power to the pump, then its gotta be your wiring from your pump to your relay.

05-11-2009, 10:23 AM
i dont know how many times i've forgotten a ground wire somewhere and I pull my hair out trying to find the electrical gremlin, only to figure it was my own mistake. Last one was the ecu ground reference on the block, wsant tightened and it would rattle a little loose so car would hesitate lol That screwed with my head for a week.
Any hoo...looks like a fun little project you're doing! i've almost considred a few times picking up a cheap EF hatch....dunno if i can go to the dark side yet though :D
