It looks like a nitrous explosion. He hit the juice while idling, then when he opened the throttle, it backfired and blew his intake off, with the fuel pump still going....

Used to be when you went nitrous, you pretty much just bought a new intake manifold to replace the stock one because you were going to blow that through your hood eventually.

I know guys with hood pins at all four corners.
