The Assignment is CARCHITECTURE

First off I would like to thank Subie Gal from NASIOC since I am using her idea, which I am sure was someone else's idea at one point in time, but basically I just wanted to let everyone know this is not my idea.

Ok heres the rules:

This is a bi-monthly assignment (for example 15-31 would be assignment 1).

Make sure to only post pictures that you have taken during the assignment period.

You are limited to enter 3 photos only.

Try to keep your photo size to around 800x800 at the largest.

There will only be a 1st and 2nd place for the time being.

Judges will be the previous winners of the last assignment.

The winner of the last assignment will get to choose the next assignment.

Judges can not compete in the assignment.

NO water marks or borders allowed.

Please post camera make and model, what lens your using, and the EXIF data (iso, shutter speed, aperture, etc.)

You may critique your peers work, just keep in mind if you critique it be nice and mention a way to make it better just be respectful.

If you break any of these rules you will be WARNED and have your entry deleted.

The assignment is caritechure which means rather than using the tradional method of taking a picture of the car just take a picture of certian part that you may find interesting. For example you may want to take a picture of rear quater panel of 57 Bel Air just to show the curves of the rear end. You can used all parts of the car to show off the aritechure of the car including but not limited to: headlights, fenders, frames, wheels, guages, tail lights. This assignment will be hard to keep the focus on a single part of the car and will take a lot of creativity to do properly. Here is an example taken from google images of what I am talking about.

Just keep in mind arhitechure you would want the photo to be interesting and more "art" than just a picture of your fender, as I said you will have to do a little thinking outside of the box on this one.

The EXIF data is linked with the picture you should be able to see it when you highlight your picture in windows.

Was just looking back over the images and noticed that some of them are not following the rule regarding having to have been taken during the contest time period. Most of the photos have Exif data, except for a couple peoples.

And then there is Grant's which have a date of 1-20-2007, but I imagine his camera just has the wrong year set in it.

Erik - No Exif Data

Okay the contest is over and the judges have voted, after the ballots have been tallied the winners go as follows: Erik for his headlight, SMG for his GTi photo, and Polar Bear Grant for his Motegi Tracklite picture. This means Erik is the winner and will get to choose and judge the next assignment.

Now guys keep a close eye on up coming assignments and make sure that you follow the rules. Cacrhitecture is suppose to show different lines of a car or some detail that really sticks out. A lot of you posted headlights which a great example of carchitecture. If you interested in experimenting more with carchitecture I would suggest picking up Carchitecture by Fredric Winkowski and Frank D. Sullivan at your local library. That book has over 500 photos trust me when I say it worth picking up.

Erik can now choose the new assignment and also judges the next one. Since SMG came in second he will be a judge for the next assignment as well.
