Rules for nominations and what will happen if you win:
Acceptable vehicles for nomination:
Cars (electric, gas, hybrid, diesel, street and strip, etc.)
Trucks
Vans
Motorcycles
Users must nominate someone, they cannot nominate that same person for two consecutive months, unless it is for a different vehicle.
You cannot nominate yourself.
Photoshppping your pics, to within an inch of their life, is not acceptable. People should be able to recognize your car, from the pics. Retouching a rock-chip or a windshield-crack or a door-ding is fine. Adding PS vinyl graphics, flame jobs and new paint schemes do not count. After the win, if you want to do a final, full-on touch up, to make it look perfect, that is acceptable as long as it is still the car you have not the one in your head.
The ride must be posted in the Members Rides area.
The winner must be available for a mini-interview that should take less than half an hour, preferrably in the presence of the car, but in a pinch and with enough information, it can be done over the phone.
One member. One vote. We are all created equal (except for me). If there's a tie, the moderators will decide the winner and give the reason why. "Just cuz" will not be an acceptable answer, nor will "Because he's my roommate". This will not be a popularity contest, of the owner, but the car. If it comes down to a tie between a drag only, carbeuretted, stock, 1968, cherry, Camaro SS and a 1998 turbo Civic, the Civic will win because this is a "tuner" website. The Camaro can still win but in a tie, everything counts.
Winners have to be members. You can post up pics of someone else's ride but if they don't know or care enough to join, they cannot win.
If a car has won, in the past, and it was sold to another member, they cannot win unless the new owner mods the car noticeably (i.e. how you can't win a Grammy for a song someone else won a Grammy for, in the past... thank you Michael Bolton and Natalie Cole). For instance, a black SRT/4, with dark green racing stripes would need new stripes, new paint, new wheels, etc., to make it look enough like a different car, to win a second time. In the same vein, a car could win for being an 11 second CRX and a few months later, win again because now it is no longer primer grey, with duct tape/bungee cord mounts for the body kit, but is currently a metalflake purple/blue with red flake and JDM wheels and tinted windows.
Nominations must come with a link to pictures (ideally to the member's rides page) but larger pics can be hosted at PhotoBucket, PutFile and such, as long as the pics can be embedded here so people can see them without having to click a link for each pic.
While a hot model makes more people look at photos of your car, avoid nudity in your pics as this site should be available for view, to all. I don't want to answer any questions about how Jason got it on with the model draped over his car, who was sweating through a pair of Daisy Duke cutoffs and a Fruit-Of-The-Loom tanktop and how, after the car show, he lost himself to those ruby red lips, milky white skin and baby blue eyes. "What was that model's name?"
"Russel."
Think of the children.
If you are careful, you can do the write up for your own car, with:
Year.
Make.
Model.
Mods.
Stories on how it was done, who helped, etc. remembering the "little people" in your acceptance speech is always good. That guy who held up the transmission, while you bolted it in, will appreciate a shout out. The mom who co-signed the loan, will cry, to see her name in print when her famous son wins "Car-Of-The-Month".
How you came to own the car.
Price paid.
Money blown on mods, etc..
Pics should come after the write-up or you can do mod [pic] mod [pic].
If you want, I can gather the info, in the interview and do the entire write-up for you or you can put together a rough draft and I'll edit it for content, to fit this screen and to run in the time alloted.
