01-22-2009, 10:31 PM
nice.
You going to tune yourself?
SW-21turbo
01-22-2009, 10:34 PM
TurboEp3 is doing tuning i did the labor like replace manifold with turbo one change fuel pump, injectors and stuff like that
Brian
01-22-2009, 10:39 PM
I like doing all the wrench work myself too. Got no clue how to tune though.
I saw a MR2 with a side scoop for the intake on it. It didn't look too bad. Always liked the look of the MR2, don't think I'd like working on one though

Gotta love JDM. I'm into JDM, I just don't have a car to do anything JDM too. Right now it's EDM for me
I'm thinking about doing a CRX SI B18 swap, or a DC Integra GSR with the JDM front clip
SW-21turbo
01-22-2009, 10:51 PM
LOL me im not so into hondas its not that i dont like them its just THERES TOO MANY!!! I like being unique thats why i went with the mr2 and pray for my next car to be a 96 Supra turbo or twin
Brian
01-22-2009, 10:56 PM
Would be nice. I like Supras.
I've got a Cressida shell at my parents house that I was thinking about putting a 2JZ engine in it(I think that is the twin turbo engine code)
SW-21turbo
01-22-2009, 10:59 PM
Yea it is...What im wondering is which motor the 1jz or the 2jz has more power??

SW-21turbo
01-22-2009, 11:14 PM
I checked an it says they both have 320hp
Brian
01-22-2009, 11:20 PM
Don't really have the slightest idea about Toyota engines.
I just know that their twin turbo engines are awesome
SW-21turbo
01-22-2009, 11:21 PM
Yea but i heard a supra with a single big mofo turbo will fcking fly
Backwoodz Tuner
01-22-2009, 11:25 PM
Yeah I remember readin in Sport Compact of them getting over 1000 HP, them motors are tough as nails, extra boooost friendly. There bad ass just expensive to work on. That's why I'm just a notha Honda guy.
SW-21turbo
01-22-2009, 11:33 PM
And Im a toyota guy and thats going to be my next car hopefully too many hondas around i like being unique

a 2jzgte is used more for drag because the turbo kicks in later and hold higher boost longer, the 2jzgtte uses two medium sized turbos that run at a lower rpm, but dont stay as high into the redline. better for daily driving. same power output, it just depends on where you want it, plus the 2jzgte is generally a much lighter engine with all the do dads under the hood. and its a lot easier to control and tune, less boost spikes
Brian
01-23-2009, 02:10 PM
right on.
Well, I'm not going to do the swap for a couple years, so that gives me plenty of time to research
SW-21turbo
01-23-2009, 04:27 PM
well then that is my answer im buying the single turbo supra
Brian
01-23-2009, 05:11 PM
yessir.
I think i want to pick up a 77 Celica and have some fun with that
SW-21turbo
01-23-2009, 06:11 PM
ima pick up a 96 supra mkiv hopefully next year in payments though

btw watch out for the head gasket issue... OEM did not torque them right... easily fixed by removing head gasket, putting in new one and torqueing it right
