Brian

i have been going back and forth between 3 plans.

1. Boost it. Only about 10psi though
2. Swap a Euro S30 M3 engine in it. Roughly 300hp
3. Buy a M3 and sell this one

I like the car, my buddy's got one of those but it's the 2D version. Pretty sure it's about the same car, looks the same.

Yeah man someday soon, well when I get my car back to one piece and my motor boosted up, and my freakin license back, I'd love to roll up there and chill out. That would be way cool.

Brian
01-22-2009, 04:21 PM
hell yeah.

If your boosted and you beat me, then we will just have to have a drift competition

Ty

Then we can have a grip competition :D

my car handles on rails. BMW + 40 way adjustable coilovers = WIN

Hey are you wanting to adjust Camber and Caster at the same time because it looks like your need to clock you camber plate one bolt clockwise so the adjustment is pointing strait out. I could be wrong a lot of drifters do it your way because it helps eliminate bump steer but I thought I would just check.

Nice car, BMWs are to baller for me. :-D

right now it's just a DD. It was aligned recently and it's going to stay that way until I go drifting. Which is probably going to be this summer

AWD + boost = WIN :D

mine handles better

I'm just lowered on SPT springs, but I'm fairly certain a WRX with spring rates like mine will out handle a 325i anyday -- even with "40 way adjustable coilovers"

Brian
01-22-2009, 05:19 PM
not sure. Never own a Subaru. My buddy had a STI and that handled great.

A front engine, rear wheel drive will NEVER outhandle a similarly modded AWD car.

A fully modded RWD car could outhandle a stock AWD car, sure. But if they have similar mods and assuming both drivers know how to drive... the AWD car will come out on top every time.

My WRX will be faster than an STi after Saturday :D

EDIT:Also, that particular generation BMW weighs A LOT. They're quite heavy.

Damn not even 20 posts and your a super moderator now, movin up quickly. So what all does a mod do??

Back on topic though , your on but don't expect much of a drift competition from me , ebraking the corners to get my ass to slide ain't particularly a great idea rollin FWD. But I'm game

I wouldn't be so quick to say your car is faster around corners. Theres to many factors to go into it. A true test would be a road course, although I could assure you that those DDM coilovers are the shit. The 325 has a peppy straight six which would help coming out of the corner meanwhile your 2.0ltr would be trying to build boost. Though if you had a lighten flywheel or a light weight crank pulley that would help you move up the tach some. If I had to put money on it I would stick with the BMW unless you had a set of sway bars and wider tires, other wise the WRX would "snowplow" to much through certain corners causing you to slow down. Don't get me wrong the WRX is a great platform, its just that with more suspension mods I with my N/A was able to pull from a WRX on some corners. I think it would be a good race lets set it up, I'm sure Pacific Raceways will let us use their track.

BTW hows the camber on the rear using the DDM set up?

Brian

glad to see a fellow BMW guy on here.

I really haven't done anything as far as adjustments on it other than setting it to the stiffest setting.

Nah I'm a Subaru guy all the way, I just share a interest in the BMWs. I was curious about the rear camber though is it zero'd out so you don't have bad camber wear on the inside of the tire? I've heard thats a common problem on the 94-99 3 Series since there's not to many options to fix that... well at least options that don't hurt the bank to much.

Brian
01-23-2009, 11:25 PM
oh gotcha.

Yeah, its been aligned so there is no camber wear what so ever

clean bemmer man! i like it!

Brian

thanks man. Next thing is a paint job. I'm debating on the same red or flat black

Brian
01-29-2009, 07:59 PM
Joe,

I'm just testing the waters right now. I have nothing lined up or anything.

I would be looking for a 94-95 4-door (I like OBD1)

Backwoodz Tuner
01-29-2009, 08:05 PM
Yeah OBD1 FTW! A lot easier to work on IMO. But the bimmer is pretty nice, i must admitt, it's just if it were me, i know parts and shit for em aren't cheap and i wouldn't know where to start when it came to work on it when shit started goin wrong with it

Brian
01-29-2009, 08:08 PM
they are expensive to fix, but they are such great cars.

I have a OBDII scanner, so that's really not the problem. If I ever decide to do eternal work, i want tuning it to be easy

Backwoodz Tuner
01-29-2009, 08:17 PM
Yeah an OBD2 scanner would be a must with a car like that. So you ever plan on doin any internal work to the BMW??

Brian
01-29-2009, 08:19 PM
i'm either going to boost it, swap it for a M3 engine, trade it, or sell it and buy a M3

Brian
02-06-2009, 10:38 PM
Hey Joe,

I got someone coming down tomorrow with a 95 GSR, and he wants to trade for the BMW

Backwoodz Tuner
02-06-2009, 10:52 PM
Hell yeah man thats pretty cool man. 2 dr or 4?

Brian
02-06-2009, 11:01 PM
2-door, but I can live with that

Backwoodz Tuner
02-07-2009, 01:56 AM
Hell yeah man that's cool. You kinda nervous bout it?

Brian
02-07-2009, 01:59 AM
nah, more excited. Can't wait to get back in the Honda game.

you know anyone selling some rims?

Backwoodz Tuner
02-07-2009, 02:40 AM
That's good man, but no, not at the moment, what would you be lookin for? Some GSR blades , fat 5's?

Brian
02-07-2009, 05:22 PM
probably some GSR blades, and then I'm going to paint them white

Backwoodz Tuner
02-07-2009, 05:29 PM
Ok I'll keep my eyes and ears open. What you lookin to spend? So that guy roll by yet? Like my new avatar?

Brian
02-07-2009, 05:50 PM
Not sure about the price. I might just go with some HX rims.

He is still on his way.

It's the same avatar as my HHU one, just longer

Backwoodz Tuner
02-07-2009, 05:52 PM
I know I guess I like the longer version more. But ok I'll keep my eyes peeled 4 ya.

Brian
02-07-2009, 06:01 PM
