View Full Version : Best Roads in the Northwest
I took a drive down to Costco today and then came back up Spiral Highway (Spiral Rd., Lewiston ID) which inspired me to create a thread encompassing some of the best roads in the Northwest.
Here are my top 3:
1. Highway 9 to Mt. Baker
2. Spiral Rd.
3. That one road in Postfalls, ID that parallels I-90 but goes off into the trees and winds through the hills.
What are some of your favorite roads in the Northwest?

I went on it once before but not in my car.
there is a road that goes between nespelium (sp?) and gifford...it goes up a mountain and down the other side....it was amazing!!! anyone from this side that is going back form the spring meet will have to leave with me cause we are gonna hit that road hard and fast!!

Sorry. My exhaust set those off
Favorites:
The Schweitzer access road. Nine switchbacks.
Glacier National Park's Going To The Sun Road is like an hour of twisties.
The road around Hayden Lake was so twisty, I was tired of steering. Google East Hayden Lake Rd. It looks like a rally road. We could lure Ken Block here, with that road.
Fernan Lake Road (Sherman turns into it, in Cd'A) is a blast, if your exhaust sounds cool. Google Fernan Lake Rd.

I like the road from CDA to Worley... It is quite a fun drive, though not as much since they expanded and changed the road... On the old road, I made it to Worley in 12 mins. 130 MPH :D

no but at the same time its not a road you could just up and run all the time. people would get wise fast there. its a everyone once in a while thing

And once you hit the reservation, you are on a sovereign nation's turf. What if the officer decides that the penalty for speeding is seizing your car and stringing you up, like "A Man Called Horse"?
