Chan's S2K turned out good. And there was a good one of Jen's forester on a rolling shot too.

Nice shot Ryan! Gives me an idea for something else, though I don't have the time to arrange it. It'd be cool to use the tailights of a car, combined with a long shutter and movement, plus movement of the camera to create light graffiti in the trail behind it.

just as a note... a good idea for you to use would be to try to get an action shot of drifting... i don't know about the way the rules are set up, but from my understanding, i don't think that yours will pass as they appear to be a minor modification to creepin's idea...

BTW, if i am wrong, i will delete or modify this post as needed with no complaints

I have taken hundred of pictures using shutter speed. I just didnt think of that for this assignment.

I have no way of taking pictures of my car drifting let alone someone elses.

Creepin's pictures were too old. He already said that.

A photo is about more than just the subject. There is no reason to discount someone's photo simply on the basis of similar subject or style. You could give two people cameras and have them use the same settings and shoot the same scene sand still get different photos. So, I say, let anyone submit what they want, similar or not.

Mine are alot more different than Creepin's anyways.

I am going to try to get my other picture up before the 15th. I am going to do a whole photoshoot of the vehicle with some 'boosted launches'. Maybe you can guess what i am taking pictures of. hahaha.

wasn't discounting anything, was just commenting about a good suggestion for a shot for him, and noting that without trying to sound rude, the other shot was a little better as the car was visible, and as this was a "vehicle action" assignment, it might help to have the vehicle visible.

You can submit any type of photo's, just within the time frame. Nothing is considered stealing someones idea, unless its blatant. The headlights is just a way of taking pictures at night with long exposures. Its been done, but to do it successfully is a whole other story.

I went out and shot this tonight. Was hoping to get some time to shoot before sunset, but I didn't. Had to make the best of the dark. Also had just got done taking 4 Jager Bombs each, so legally Alex probably shouldn't have been driving. So we decided to stay in front of my house, lol. If I get a chance to shoot some daytime shots before the 15th, I will.

Getting the whole car in the shot is about emphasizing the car. This shot is about taking emphasis off the car.

But I agree, a nice rig would be cool. I am piecing one together. I'll be using it for the CC Flyer shot likely.

can't... breathe... too... much... black... soot...

good basic shot though... an idea for a possible improvement would be to be doing a burnout if possible with that vehicle in that shot

Well. It is hard to do a burnout..... you never know which tire is going to spin! It is non LSD. And those are brand new tires... i dont think my friend wants to toast them.

Thanks! I'm glad you noticed. It took a few shots to get everything just right. The first couple shots were pretty bad. Couldn't see in the car at all, just a dark dull blue sky reflecting on the windshield, angle wasn't quite right, etc. Once we got the angle right and the lighting inside the car properly balanced, it all came together well. Then I just had to get Alex to sit still enough for 15 seconds that he wasn't too blurry :)
